I think the "Sea" in "Red Sea" stands for "Seattle." Because 40% of U of P tonight was Seahawk fans.

Embarrassing.

It was much worse in person, trust me. I wish Arians had marched the team out there to watch the Seattle fans chanting and yelling and whooping it up in our house. It was pathetic.

It was a few years ago that I was at an AZ/SEA game and I saw maybe 20-30 fans and no tailgate spots for the Seahawks. Sadly, I bet many there were Cards fans in 2009.

The comments from the national media about the attendance on Twitter were embarrassing as was the constant boasting from Rich Eisen on NFL Network about it being the most fans to stay at the stadium after the game; and it was the visiting team!!

Someone mentioned on the other forum that there is a University of Washington / ASU game on too. Maybe a bunch of fans took vacation to watch both games.

So, who was it that sold their tickets to the brand new jersey wearing SEA/UW fans?

The Valley of the Sun will always be the biggest fair weather fan city on the NFL map. There are a lot of reasons for this that are completely obvious. What this means however, is that the bona fide Cardinals fans that show up every week and wade through this cesspool of out of towners and bandwagon jumpers, to stick with their team, through multiple losing seasons, these folks, although few in numbers, are the best fans in the NFL. No one else has to put up with away games in their own stadium. Take pride in this. Hold you nose, and realize this is one thing that will never change. If you live here, I'll bet any one of you has a neighbor, close enough that you could throw a football from your front doorstep and land it in his backyard, that fits this fair weather. "I'm not from here, I just live here mold." Do your own thing, know that you are a battle tested fan, and try to avoid strangling the living sh** out of this clown. We need you at the stadium wearing red, not in prison.

I never understand why people get mad at other fans for not showing up to games because they don't want to pay hundreds of dollars and drive an hour with traffic to watch a losing team.

Yep. The Cardinals will have to do A LOT more to earn consistent fan support.

I have never understood people that won't support a team unless they are winning. Being a fan means in good times and in bad, not jumping on and off the bandwagon. Victories mean more when you've endured the losses right there with the team. Going to the Super Bowl in Tampa meant a lot more having been through a lot of lean years at SDS, etc. You only get out what you put into it so it is up to you on how you support the team. I just choose to support them all the time, especially with my time, money, and energy on game days. It just rubs some of us diehards the wrong way when others aren't as dedicated and sell their seats to "the enemy."

Being in Pa I don't get to home games however it really bugged the crap out of me last night hearing it get loud when Seattle scored. It sounded like an away game on the TV. Everytime they panned the crowd it appeared there were as many Seahag fans as Cardinal fans. It appeared that it was about 50/50.

Yeah, it really sucks being away from your seats for a few minutes (on the concourse or in the bathroom) at UOP and hearing the crowd get really loud because you are never sure which team did something positive. :|

I used to feel the same way. At some point, the Cardinals' failures ground me down to where I can't stop following them, but I get little enjoyment from it. Do you not see a point where you won't be able to take them anymore? Where supporting them in spite of the losses, in spite of the lack of talent, just isn't worth the trouble anymore?

Yup. I know a guy who flew 15 people in to see the Seattle/UDub weekend.

FWIW, largely the Seattle fans were polite and nice and constantly complaining about the officiating. Good-natured about Adderall teasing. They really did not appreciate the flag boys.

It was loud for Seattle from the opening gun.

Not really. Don't get me wrong, I'm really unhappy right now. I would also understand someone like you (this is not meant to be insulting) not following the team anymore because you don't live here. If I moved and planned on staying moved I might start following the local team. Understandable...but what is the definition of bandwagon? Especially for people that live here.

When a franchise is as abysmal as this one has been, bandwagon takes on a new meaning.

(And I am TOTALLY a bangwagon Bear fan. Only kind of a bandwagon New England Patriots fan. I am totally more of a fair-weather fan as I get older. If a team is terrible or for whatever reason don't keep my interest, it is not really worth my blind allegiance.)

they make it hard some times but I love my cardinals!!!

Every time the D hits the field I am GLUED. I watch the O very intently too but I get distracted much easier during offensive drives until they learn how to play football.

I guess. I'm not sure. It certainly isn't easy being embarrassed in the stands and on the field.
