Does anybody have a subscription or used to to the site? I've been going to it for about a year and it looks pretty good. Is it worth it to pay money for the extra articles, message board and recruiting stuff?

NOOOOOOOOO

If you can learn one thing about the internet it is, don't pay for anything. You can get it free somewhere else. Places like Rivals and Scout.com try to drive up their subscriptions with "insider info", that gets leaked usually w/ in 24 hours. So I guess it depends on whats more important to you, finding our baseless rumors immediately, or having $100 in your pocket.

Well it just seems like a pretty cool site with all the info on recruits and the videos and there are some good articles.

I post on the Boise State Message boards on rivals. It's good to chat with other Boise fans. Usually they have a free trial week you can get in a bunch of recruiting articles and all that. I've never paid for it though. I can see paying for it if you are really into who the new recruits are.

They also have a premium board if you pay you can post on, that usualy includes people that know indiser information before it comes out, like future games being scheduled, coaching rumors ect.

I'll stick with free!

I like the MB's also, but HooverDam is right IMO. All the "insider" info is usually posted on the main board a day or two later.

Totally agree no. Not that they don't work hard and try to be interesting but you have to realize recruiting is a bunch of 15-17 year old kids who have no idea what they want to do, and they're talking to these "recruiting analysts", so they tell them all sorts of things to keep their name in the paper. read Telfair's book, he openly jokes about the rise of internet stuff how people come up and ask him something, he answers jokingly and within 4 hours it's all over the net.

Until a recruit signs an LOI, nothing they say means anything. Ask Illinois fans how they feel about all those reports for a year about Eric Gordon and then he bolts on them for Indiana.

I read the free sites, the rumors usually come out eventually anyways, and you react to a lot less stuff.

Last year Bruin report online was using Farmar's ankle injury to try and get people to subscribe to the pay site. They were running ads sign up and get the insider report on his ankle. Problem was, their report was hairline fracture, out for the year, and it wasn't true. think they gave back the money to anybody who signed up to read their false report?

I disagree

I have been a member of Rivals.com (for Huskersillustrated) for over 2 years. The stories are okay but the insider info I get on the message board is invaluable. I have know of commits days if not weeks ahead of time. Sometimes kids have to get their grades up before the school will let them commit, sometimes there are family issues going on (mom likes another school blah blah blah) I definatley feel like it is worth the $9 a month. But it really depends on the guys running the site. The guys running the Nebraska site I knew and they worked on another site before they came over to rivals. Not sure about the SunDevils site, I read the articles there but I dont have access to their message board because I subscribe through another team.

And in the off season, we get all kinds of practice updates that you don't really see reported anywhere else. Like I said it really depends on the people running the particular site.

It all depends on what team you cheer for. If its a team like Nebraska football, Kansas or Arizona basketball, then its well worth the money. I am a premium member to the Arizona site and its been my best purchase in a while.
