OK, I missed the news, George Boone has returned to run the Cardinals "War Room"?

OMG, what a horrible pick.

The issue isn't the kid, it is where he is drafted. The guy has a 6th round grade. You could have got him tomorrow and drafted a higher regarded player.

Unless the plan is to go all small school guys it makes zero sense.

Well all the prognosticators have been proven wrong. The Patriots just took Mallett.

He'll make a pro bowl before any of us can even memorize the names of the two nobodies we took today.

PFW write up is inspiring...

"lacks toughness to block in-line"..."drops easy passes"..."not strong after catch"

It does say he is "smart" "high character" and "hardworking"...so we drafted the Max Hall of TEs...awesome.

Why is everyone compared to Max Hall? This guy is athletic as can be and has it all physically, but it hasn't translated. Max had none of it physically.

OH GOD! Why do my teams have to be run by idiots!? (Suns, Dbacks, Cardinals)

At least you are not a Cub fan too. Being a cub and Card fan tries the patience of a saint. Unbelievable. Running back in rnd 2 did not really surprise me but this just takes my breath away.

you know what's terrifying? what if we really ARE going with BPA. does that mean they think this kid with a 6th round grade is the BPA?!

Well, at least this has provided some comic relief with everyone's hilarious comments.

Not even the best TE available when we picked. Luke Stocker would have been a much better choice if they were hell bent on a TE with this pick.

Sick about it........

Arizona fans, to find video of Rob Housler, you can go to FAUOwlAccess.com.

They won't let me post the link yet., but after entering FAUOwlAccess.com, enter: /pages/2011-draft-profile-fau-te-rob-housler.aspx

That will take you to our draft profile page of Rob Housler.

Look forward to following the Cardinals in the coming years.

Athletic if you mean fast...thats IT, fast not big, not strong, not a particularly skilled receiver, can't block.

He played at 215 LBS!!!!! He lined up more as a slot WR than a TE in college! He "bulks" up to 238 and runs a good 40.

He is Max Hall of TEs, not big enough or talented enough...but he is a high character hard worker.

JEEZUS...I am crushed by the stupidity. Like someone said earlier they could have just about selected ANY OTHER POSITION and would have come out smelling like roses. I don't care how much dope Ryan Mallet smoked or snorted (allegedly) it would have at least appeared that this team gives a damn.

I was just going to respond to Shane about that. I saw at least 15 players better than Ryan Williams in round 2. 93 better than this TE who no one has ever heard of until today.

Yup. Could have easily had this kid in the fifth the way this draft is going.

By your standard? That counts :mulli:

Pretty sure the consensus among people who do this for a living would support his claim, at least about Housler.

Basically every player who has been drafted so far and a lot of the ones who haven't are superior to a 220lb TE who can't block anybody.

Whis has drafted one O-lineman in the first three rounds. He's drafted one LB in the first three rounds who's actually played a down in a real game. So, with Houston, Acho, Rackley and others on the board, he goes with the second coming of Leonard Pope.

We desperately need a real GM.

Of course because my standard is far superior to yours and you are the one who inferred that Williams was the best player available.

How many people have ever seen the kid play? He ran a 4.46/4.55(seen both printed) at the combine so obviously the Cards think he can be a weapon in the pass game.

I don't get why everyone sits there and rips Kiper and McShay etc and then during the draft they freak out when the draft grade of someone we pick is bad, when that grade is coming from Kiper and McShay.

I don't really care about how he's graded, I'm po'd that we took a tight end instead of someone who could rush the passer. We have Darryl Washington for LB's. That's it. If we go into next year with Porter, Hagans, and Lenon again I'll freaking lose it. The whole essence of a 3-4 is having stud LB's and we have (maybe) 1.
