yeah... if there's enough corraborating witnesses to n-words being dropped, especially about someone currently on the team, I'm starting to think tape or emails might not be needed to get him out.

Technically Bickley said that he heard from another media member that they had heard the same thing about Sarver saying that about Ayton, but was unsure if the media member was getting the info from the same source as Rose.

i doubt if this story "settles down" all season until there's a conclusion to it.

I was talking about letting the NBA investigation run it's course.

However, if things unravel, things could play out much more quickly by the NBA, owners or even the players.

If that is true, why is Monty Williams still the coach of this team?? He himself said that he wouldn't be here if something like that was occurring.

How can we trust Vince Carter. He’s obviously disgruntled
He is a disgruntled former Sun but he doesn't have a reputation for distorting the truth like Watson and McD do.

As for this particular claim, I can't recall when or where but I've definitely heard it before. It didn't seem like a big deal when I heard it but thrown in with everything else, it's likely going to be another problem for our hopefully soon-to-be former owner.

I think this is sarcasm, no?

Guys, I keep seeing people repeatedly falling back on “all the reports are from disgruntled employees” to hedge on what’s going on here... but doesn’t it make sense that people who had terrible experiences would be... disgruntled?

Sorry I feel like that's an exaggeration. Nothing happened and seems like Sarver was just talking crap. Again if he felt threatened or anything this would have came out long ago since he played 10 more years and many more games against Sarver...blah

Yeah it was sarcasm.

And yes, it makes sense that a former coach or GM might be justifiably disgruntled. But Watson and McD don't strike me as trustworthy so I'm disinclined to grant them instant credibility just because the guy they are talking about is Sarver. I wouldn't simply dismiss their comments either, they just don't carry the same weight someone else's would.

McD I get. That guy is a complete and utter moron with zero tact. But at one point, I believe you stated that Earl Watson could end up the best coach in Suns history, which means you probably had a pretty great opinion of him overall. For sure he turned out to be a terrible coach, but Maybe I missed it... what did Watson do to make him less trustworthy?

(Note the greatest coach thing is not brought up as a slam, but more to understand how you went from that opinion to him being untrustworthy.)

Without looking it up, I'd bet there was some context to that comment. Something like "I have no idea what kind of a coach he'll be, he could end up being the best coach we've ever had". For me, that's not intended as a prediction or an endorsement.

I had real concerns about Earl but when the team rallied around him for the position, I figured I was reading him wrong. It worried me, and I said it back then too, that he seemed to be a name dropper and in my experience, name droppers aren't usually trustworthy. I did try to buy into him though because I figured the players would know better than me whether he was a phony.

And except for his name dropping, I liked his personal story and the upbeat things he had to say about the players even when others railed about his cheerleading. Also, unlike most here, I had no problem with the way he was hired (lack of candidates interviewed). Again, that was due to how well the players spoke of him.

But over time it became clear that he was all talk and nothing more. And stories have since come out about the dysfunctional environment he created, playing players off against the front office similar to the tales told about Mark Jackson in Golden State.

Since he's been out though it's become more and more clear to me that the guy is full or crap.

70 former or current employees on record. Multiple former players stating instances

And you sit there and wonder why they didn't say something before while you doubt them.

For shame and I see you

Steve... I didn’t take anything out of context, especially in a twisted way like you intimate above. If anything, I actually downplayed what you said as it wasn’t just that he’d possibly be the Suns best coach ever... but one of the all time greats in the league, comparing him to becoming the next Riley or Pop. Here’s the actual quote from a thread right after he signed a 3 year deal:

“Watching and listening to Watson, I really believe he's going to be one of the all time greats. Twenty years from now I really think he, and, unfortunately, Luke Walton, will be talked about the way Riley and Pop have been.”

That is a literal prediction and endorsement if I’ve ever seen one.

but suddenly that guy’s word is worthless? Based off rumors of him playing players against the FO? Hell, hearing what we’re hearing now, even if those rumors were true, maybe they were justified considering how disgusting that report makes Sarver out to be.

Wow, I really didn't remember saying it that way. Sorry about that but I wasn't intentionally trying to twist anything. Okay, so I liked him even more at one time than I remembered. But things change.

I didn't like him as a coach up until the day we fired him and then immediately start distrusting him, it happened over a period of time. Actually, I did like him as a person for most of his time here, perhaps all of his time here but I lost faith in him as a coach well before that. My opinion of him as a person changed after he left.
