While Gambo didn't duck the realities of the situation, his first radio discussion of the news was prefaced with the understanding that some are "disgruntled employees" (which he repeated another time or 2) and Sarver has been "an NBA leader in hiring minorities."

after a full year of over 300 interviews the time for even mentioning disgruntled employees is over.
and it's irrelevant how many minorities you hire if you treat them like sheet. Like when he asked an employee, "do i own you?"

well,
what can you expect from the radio "home of the Suns?"
and the NBA league commissioner?

more!

I caught a little bit of them while driving yesterday - they were definitely carrying a ton of water and one was really selling the no animus

Dude can’t hold a position in the NBA ever again

Much respect for Paul. Very clear and professional statement. One he didn't have to make and won't necessarily make his life easier.

I'm glad LeBron and Paul have led the way for other players to speak out. I just checked to see who was in charge of the Players Association now that Paul is no longer the president. The current president is C.J. McCollum. Bismack Biyombo is a Vice President however there are 6 VP's as well as a First Vice President, which is Andre Iguodala. Other VP's are Grant Williams, Garrett Temple, Jaylen Brown, Kyrie Irving, and Malcolm Brogdan. Biyombo, Brown, and Brogdan have been VP's since 2019, Kyrie since 2020, and Grant Williams since 2021. Temple has been a VP since 2017.

Those are players to look for as far as leadership amongst the players.

Harrison Barnes is also the treasurer of the association, which is the only other listed position I saw. Figured I'd reference that also.

So far CP3 is the only player with balls to call it like it is and he even went a little soft IMO.

the good news is
i see this pushback building rather than dissipating

yes, the NBA's advantage of the off-season timing is less microphones in player's faces
but players today all have their own media access/exposure/megaphones now if they want it

and this is will be THE #1 topic for long enough to...

make the minority owners act in their best interest and vote Sarver out
yes, NOT doing so will hurt free agent signings, ticket sales, and the rest

yes, Silver didn't want the legal battle, but he knew the other Suns owners had a cleaner path and he's probably hoping they take it too

I can't fathom that the minority owners of the Suns partnership... who really are a vast majority, just by the way... can't grasp (or at least to this point, apparently) how much of a negative impact keeping Sarver around has to the current AND long term reputation and success of the franchise.

Even if they have no moral stance on his behavior, he absolutely IS impacting their collective bottom line. It's mind boggling to me that they aren't at the very least responding to this on even that very primary level.

also, i do not believe Sun's active players should take action.
they are, of course, in a difficult position being that the boss controls their future and salaries

but players should get involved
more specifically, isn't that what the Player's Association/union is for -- protecting the interests of players?

but now that Paul has stepped up, i'd advise Booker to make a similar statement tomorrow

Paul may still be the floor leader on this team, but it's Booker's team and he has a long future ahead of him. He should not want to be known as the guy who didn't say something or finally said something only after it was safe to do so

Dude… you’re not really gonna find some way to shade Booker under these circumstances, are you? Tell me that’s not where this is going.

The timing of this isn't as good for the league as some may think. Sure, it's the off-season but Media day is right around the corner and short of a player getting arrested for something this Sarver stuff should be the dominant theme. I hope that it's not just a talking point for the Suns but is something other players elsewhere discuss also.

Suns Media Day is September 26th.

I imagine players will make statements before hand so they can say they’ve addressed it and just talk ball at media day. Otherwise media day will be never ending with questions.

I hope you’re right but two weeks is an eternity in the news cycle.

It's either talk about Sarver or how their season ended. I think they'd prefer to talk about Sarver. Perhaps someone in the media will try and ask if Sarver played a role in their collapse, that might provide some interesting comments.

John Gambadoro said something about it earlier. There is speculation the NBA wanted to avoid the legal battle.

They should have put the report out without announcing the punishment, or just flat out leaked it, then let the heat build, let the media and players speculate that he would be forced to sell, let sponsors rattle their sabres, make the end result a fait accompli... then hold Sarver to the flame.

It would seem like Sarver would have been given the option of resigning to avoid the fine and suspension.

I'm wondering if there is an appeal process.

Which should have told the nba all they needed to understand to realize he’s not in the least bit remorseful and won’t learn a damn thing.

Gerald Bourguet writes a good article about the NBA findings today. It is free to read.

See link within tweet.

Good article. Anyone know what companies sponsor suns? I’m willing to write them and let them know I’ll not use their product while they advertise with an organization owned by this pig.

You must be registered for see images attach
But the leadership will remain in place that not only allowed this - BUT WERE THE RING LEADERS AND PERPETRATORS OF THE OFFENSES. gutless cowards.

Suns won’t see a penny from me. No new tshirts, no league pass, no games. Nothing.

I’m going to do something completely pointless and follow in my father’s once roundly mocked footsteps.

I’m going to write a letter. A letter to the Suns telling them they’ve lost a fan of 34 years and one they will never get back until they rid themselves of the cancerous, racist and sexist owner they’ve all covered for for decades and continue to do so.

Shame on EVERYONE involved at this point.
I want the list of advertisers. I am writing those letters.

It's a shame that this is going to affect the players and their young fans, who have no idea what is going on with the owner, the most.

I have yet to decide whether to cancel my Game Pass, but I'm leaning not. My 6-year-old son loves Devin Booker and I can't imagine the conversation I would have to have with him if he asks why I cancelled and he can't watch him.
I get that. I also think such a conversation with your son, even at 6, could be profound moment in your lives.
