If Lopez has value and we can get back a big man in return, whether a project or not, then sure, I have no problem trading him. The problem is that when it comes to Lopez, I don't think we can get anything helpful for us. That said, Lopez may have some issues, but he's still light years better than Siler. I'm not sure why the Suns are so enamored with him.

And let me say for the record, BC, I'm not OPPOSED to Lopez coming off the bench, as we've discussed, I just don't think it will make as big a difference as you think it will.

For the Phoenix Suns? ABSOLUTELY. Don't you?

i suppose on a relative basis it's tough to argue that one. but generally, hell no. that's fewer than chambers used to average and he was considered a lousy rebounder.

I don't take someone's list of priorities on Facebook as being gospel. Sitting down and talking with the young man and talking with his college coaches, his family, etc. will give you a better feel for him than freaking Facebook.

i think that's a naive thought in today's world. people present who they want YOU to believe them to be in an interview. in the "privacy" of their own world (or virtual world for a myspace or facebook page) they are much less guarded. to ignore what a player (or potentially employee) purposefully puts on his/her myspace/facebook page is folly for an employer. i ALWAYS search facebook when i'm about to interview a candidate. i'm not saying that info trumps their resume or my personal interaction with them, but it definitely gets added to the amalgam of information i'm accumulated to make an informed decision in hiring.

you're right, chap. it won't. this team just stinks. rearranging the chairs on the titanic won't change that.

Well, the Suns picked up his option and have nurtured him from the start--so I'm wondering if that just means the Suns are stupid. Say what you will about the moves they make, these people aren't stupid.

BC took an article from the one guy that never writes anything serious and sees him mention a list on Facebook. And then he uses said list, and ONLY said list, to proclaim that Robin Lopez doesn't take basketball seriously. You think that makes sense?

He could have had that Facebook page for years, well before being drafted by the Suns. If so, he probably made it when he was a dumb kid -- the mistake is fans making it out to be his life motto.

Using the word stupid is attacking people, rather than problems, and is subjective rather than objective.

The Suns 2010-2011 season shows that their actions have been ignorant of what it takes to be successful in the NBA.

Bringing in Hedo Türkoğlu, a soft Point-Small Forward, to replace Amar'e at Power Forward, and backing him up with a 219 lb. Power Forward, was indeed an ignorant decision.

Especially on a team with a dominant Point Guard and a system designed for his own skills.

That is just one example why our team has little hope for the rest of the season and perhaps beyond.

Yes, the trickle-down effect of the banker whom the rest of the investors chose as their Managing General Partner -- he who then chose to become very visible with his foam finger as a supposed basketball guy -- was indeed an ignorant decision.

If not, we'd be talking about how strong the Suns will be in the playoffs, rather than their mediocrity.

And yet none of this has anything to do with a supposed priority list on facebook of a young player that has probably been there longer than he's been a Sun.

You're right. It was a response to your comment, which said:

I still take Lopez over Gortat even though I find Lopez so slow. His big size helps teammates get rebounds.

Gortat's offense seems so bad. He is so soft. I've only seen him dunk once in the highlights??

It's smart to start Lopez and if he has an off night, we'll play Gortat more. Hopefully Lopez can play better and play more minutes.
The same can be said about Lopez.

And Gortat has improved offensively A LOT over these past few games. He's shooting 100% from the FT line the past 4-6 games. He's developed a nice jumper and does a good job helping Nash on the pick n roll.

He's no Amare but he's better than Lopez.

One of the highlights tonight I saw Gortat dunk with two hands! Oh my...

I think you may be right. Lopez is too inconsistent and I don't understand how he only gets 1-2 rebounds a game. Yes, I know he boxes people out but he is freaking 7ft.

Lopez is not even the 2nd best Center on this team.

Congrats Childress. :D

Whenever I see Lopez I feel sad because I wonder "Why did God have to give him all these natural gifts and athleticism just to ses him waste it"

If it was given to any one else, they'd make something good out of it but no...he had to give it to some bum who lives off his brother's shadow!

The Polish layup looks a lot more comfortable nowadays. I'd love it if we traded for a young PF like Hickson.

Guys that are on my trade list

Everyone except Dudley and Gortat.

Gortat is a trip. He runs around way more than your typical 7 footer, it's like he watched a bunch of tape on Stat and is trying to do the same things. Howard on the Magic is big and moves around a whole lot, maybe that has something to do with it. It is fun to watch him play, offense especially, whether he misses a layup, dunks it hard, misses the dunk, or my favorite...when he makes the layup! :D
I don't even care about the score, when that big lug gets a layup to go in, the world is all good for a couple of seconds. And that is nice.

Gortat has talent. Rolo has emmm emmm.. lol...I like Rolo but the fact that he can't get one friggin rebound for a guy so tall is puzzling and scary.

As I told you - Gortat wouldn`t be the greatest center in NBA history but still - he can be a good player, especially when this team will trust him. Last few games showed that he can be center in PHX and if this team will develope Gortat can play key role there.
Of course not as the star but as a key element in new puzzles for the next season.

And ... I`m still waiting for The Hammer Dunk ;-)

Cheers,
Chris

Yeah him and Dudley are my pleasant surprises this year. Gortat is getting better and better, he pretty much stole LOLopez's job and rightfully so. He looks like he is learning what does and doesn't work on this team, he's getting a real feel for Nash. I like it when he follows who ever is driving to the bucket too.

And he has developed the confidence to slam the ball rather than finger roll it.

The first time he recently did a two-hand slam -- strong -- it was like a breath of fresh air.
