In light of his performance, I believe it is come time to instill a NICKNAME on Rod Graves.

My nominations to begin with are;

Sleeping Beauty
Rip Van Winkle
Albatross

Please feel free to add anything that comes to mind and maybe we will have a poll when nominations are concluded.:D

Or, we could always use the air quotes when we refer to him, as in:

Rod Graves, the Cardinals "GM"

The Digger

Digging graves for all the Cards fans hopes.

When you look at his track record you have to wonder why he picked Boldin and DG. Because everything else he has done has been terrible.

Wait there is the nickname!

Rod "Blind Squirrel" Graves

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.

Additionally, if everyone would recall, the only reason he reportedly chose Boldin was because WR coach Tyke Tolbert was practically begging him to and convinced Graves he was a good player.

So he's not close-minded and can be convinced by solid, supported arguments. Well, he won't find any of that on this and a few other similiar threads.

Hand-wringing, hyperventilating, sophomoric sarcasm... and self-importance to no end, but very little else to contemplate.

We are a few days into free agency, and there are still many players out there that can upgrade the roster. I'll leave it to those who make a living making these decisions, and await the outcome. In fact, we don't have much choice in the matter, so why not save a lot of pointless debate and possibly countless words to retract, and do the same?

I like it!

BTW, Rugby, tell us how you REALLY feel! :D

We should start a pool. How long before the Cards sign a FA?

I am not worried about all this. I keep saying the same thing over and over...I had low expectations yesterday and they were basically met. No biggie. The simple fact is, reports were Graves had to be begged...yeah he did make the choice but I think it is a weak argument to really give him alot of credit for Quan being here. Without Tolbert (the guy who deserves almost all the credit) Quan would have ended up elsewhere and there would be a thread asking "Why didn't Graves know about Anquan Boldin".
