DRC not likely to be in Camp on Time!!!

Per Darren Urban: Rod Graves just said on the radio that DRC's deal isn't likely to be done by tomorrow b/c of his agents' travel schedule. It doesn't sound like there are any potential arguments concerning the contract, the two sides just can't get together. The first actual practice isn't until Friday so don't panic yet, but this isn't good news for a guy who needs as many reps against pro players as he can get.

There havent been any potential arguements YET. And there havent been any becuase according to the same blog they havent even talked about money yet because they arent even done ironing out the structure of the deal yet. There are two hurdles in contract negotiations, structure and money. They havent passed a single hurdle yet, not good at all. He misses a full week or more, IMO.

Do the Cards even know how to sign a mid 1st round player? Get to work Rod, put that fishing pole down.

This is the type of crap that makes reading Cardinals forums a painful experience.

The two sides can't get together for a couple days because of travel schedules. There is no noted problems on either side, and negotiations have seemed amicable up till this point. We have every other player under contract and set to show up on time..

Yet we still need to bash Rod Graves.

Un-****ing-real. Seriously, you haters are just too much.

Good point, I think I was trying to convince myself that we shouldn't get worried. Hopefully they get together and :talk: very soon.

in all honestly DL, they shouldn't have changed their travel plans? Come up a couple days earlier? It's not like they won't know what days they need to meet to get this done. It's been the same for decades.

Are you serious? The Cards and the agents haven't even started talking seriously about money yet. This wouldn't be a big deal if this was the first holdout of the Rod Graves ear. In fact, I don't even think it's a big deal until DRC misses the first week of camp. But the fact remains that Rod Graves will never have gotten all of his draft picks into camp on time (barring the unexpected). That's the fact of the matter. Zero first-rounders on time.

Most of the teams in the NFL have all of their players ready to go. That's a "Dog Bites Man" story. But the fact of the matter is that Rod Graves has always failed to accomplish this task. At getting first-rounders into camp on time, Rod Graves is batting .000.

Standard procedure.

He'll be late like they always are, not gonna waste my time with it. Once Campbell was signed I was good with our situation.

Who's "they?" Sounds to me like this is on DRC's agent, not the Cardinals. Maybe he had some clients that are higher picks and as such are a higher priority for him.

This post is ridiculous. I am actually having a hard time believing that you, of all people, wrote this. Sure there are no noted problems yet. There is also no noted progress!!

How on earth can you condone what Graves is done and try to place blame elsewhere?? He is a GM. It is his job to get his drafted players into camp ontime. Thus far he has NEVER gotten a first rounder into camp when it starts, NEVER. It is beyond pathetic that they try to use such a weak excuse as his agent is prolonging it due to schedule availabilities. WE DRAFTED THE KID IN APRIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RG has had 3 MONTHS!!!! DRC wasn't a top 5 or even top 10. These last few days should even be relevent, as the kid should already be inked.

Once again, I dont hate Graves, I think he is incompetent. He is probably a nice guy and I am sure he wants to succeed and is doing his best, but sometimes your best isn't good enough. If the Cards brought me in to camp to play I would do my best and try as hard as anyone. Should that warrant me a roster spot???

Everyone has a job to do, and regarless of the circumstances, RG has failed in doing his.

Of the 32 teams, only Washington and Philadelphia have all of their players signed. I count close to 100 players still not shown as being signed.

collective they. "They" have had nearly 2 months from the time the draft was over to schedule a time for this. Both sides get blame here. Unless they had scheduled a date/time, and the agent had to reschedule.........
