Per Jurecki: Graves handles the business side and watches no film. Whiz handles all player personnel moves. Whiz drafts and signs the giys he wants. The 53 man roster is all his, and it is in his contract that he has that power.

So according to Jurecki, the roster we saw in 2010 was all Whiz.

Well that just cant be accurate. Because a coach doesn't control the purse strings. he is told what he can spend and how much he has to work with. So while he may make the choices he can and is still handcuffed from up above.

First ~ azsouthendzone finding another nugget of information which implies a Whisenhunt transgression? Surprise surprise....

Second ~ while the coach has "autonomy" to make decisions on player/personnel, he really doesnt at the end of the day. The Bidwills, as we all know, do not give authority to spend a lot of money. Whiz could lobby for Player X and Player Y all he wants, but if the FO is unwilling to spend the money to bring said players in, he is left with bargain bin crap. Paris Lenon is an example; an outcast by the Rams and Lions although he did do a good job

It's called objectivity. Which you failed to show in your first post.

I doubt Whisenhunt wanted an 80 million dollar payroll, but of course you don't address this point at all and make it out like Whisenhunt was constrained at all by the front office/ownership.

I'm sure Whiz wanted to spend 30 million dollars less on his payroll this year.

I can believe that. He will be constrained by CAP provisions as all would be, but this is the best way to run a business. Let the man out in the field make the decisions as to who he wants to have working for him.

Dude. We have our differences of opinion; however, it seems as if you only makes posts and create threads, which inflates your obvious agenda.

Cant you comment on something else?

that being said, I'm not enamored with Wiz's personnel decisions either. I just think it's ridiculous to say the 2010 was all Wiz's.

My agenda. LMAO. Get real. Jurecki is also now talking about the money issue. Both sides are to blame if anything.

I don't know if I'd say all Whiz. Steve Keim has say in the draft. But I do believe they believe in Whiz. Rod will defer to Whiz much of the time, I'd think. He is the coach. But that doesn't mean Whiz gets everything he wants either. There are budgets and contracts. It's not like Whiz is sitting back saying "Get me a, b, c, d."
He got back to me quick. Cool dude, he is.

What percentage of your posts of late do you think would be directly related to your hatred of Whiz? 95%? You were a broken record on the subject a month ago, I don't know what is beyond a broken record, but you're already past that as well.

We get it...you hate Whiz, and 99% of the blame for the season is directly at his feet. You really don't need to repeat yourself ad nauseum.

Truthfully, there wasn't a whole lot to spend money on last season. If you didn't think they would help your football team, there is no reason to be spending money just for the sake of spending.

After watching the Hawks/Rams game, I wish the Cards had been able to acquire Whitehurst. I think he would have done much better than Anderson.

Whitehurst had one completely average game. His other games were complete garbage. The announcers last night stated that he was on the verge of being cut at the end of the year.

So basically that is pretty much what I posted in post #1. What Urban said is pretty much dead on. The point of the whole thread is that Graves is probably not to blame for bad drafts, good drafts, ect. When a draft pick goes bad, Graves is piled on. That was the intent, to show that Whiz has his fingerprints on the team, with financial restrictions obviously. Blame to go around, but I don't think you can honestly say that Whiz did not contruct the 2010 AZ Cardinals, in his ilk.

You don't seem to be considering the possibility that the Cards went cheap on him so he couldn't replace Dansby, bring in depth at corner, etc. Or course he has blame, but Graves is has much of the blame as well.

He constructed them based off the constraints he is given. Its just that simple. Also most HC I would assume base their draft picks off of what their scouting department gives them. Do you think during an NFL season an NFL head coach has much time to evaluate college players on an individual basis?

Yep. I still have no idea where the man love generated for Whitehurst on this board. Thank God we didn't waste a 3rd rounder on him (and the SeaChickens did!).
