Anybody still think the draft and off season was a disaster ?

Or that Wiz was forced to keep CP ?

Rod Graves gets flamed far to much by the likes of me and you give him far to much credit but that being said....This team has had alot of talent put on it the last 3 seasons and it is really paying off with better coaching. I would like to say top notch coaching but I do not see the Qb seesaw panning out to well. That has to stop. We still need depth at several positions especially on the OL....did anyone see that Badger was the only backup listed at G/T in the media guide. Our secondary is still suspect outside in. They do make some plays however. CP has adapted better than I thought he would and I like the schemes he runs with 5 on the line at times. Everything is better on defense when you get pressure on a qb. I will give credit where due....This team is stopping the run and that is the battle right there. Lets not talk about the crappy owners however...they still deserve to be flamed:D

nope, though ti actually could have been even better, but I don't think it was a disaster. it was a good offseason for sure. now where's Dansby's extension? (yup, it never ends)

Or that Wiz was forced to keep CP ?

yes, I still believe that and so far, that looks to be a good move, but i'm stil not sold on the guy considering the way teams go up and down the field onus at the end of fourth quarters.

I will never understand how DC's can have an effective game-plan working for 3+ quarters, and then decide they need to throw it out the window cause the other team needs a score to stay in the game.

CP is not the first DC to go Prevent happy in the 4th.

We're four games into the season and 2-2. There's a lot of room for hope, but Rod Graves ain't off the hook until this team goes to the playoffs which is still three months away. I could see this squad just as easily crapping the bed as I could see it run off eight of the next twelve.

Yep. Graves has been involved in too many "wheels falling off" to crown him just yet.

Graves should give 1/2 of his salary to Russ Grimm for making Levi Brown and the offseason additions look like smart moves.

He should give 1/4 to CP for making us think that whiffing on a third round pick is "okay".

He should add retaining Grimm for an additional year or two to his daily prayers. He should also pray that not extending Dansby last offseason doesn't blow up in his face.

My feelings towards Graves remain about the same, that he is average at best. As Cowherd said this morning on his ESPN radio show, any team that has drafted as high as we have, for as many years as we have, shouldn't surprise anyone when they "suddenly" get good.

Don't bother nidan. This team could go to the SB and certain people would still complain about Graves or the Bidwills.

40, I know you AND ME are ecsatic about being 2-2, but don't fool yourself, to the rest of the NFL, that really ain't that great of an accomlplishment.

but yeah, I bet there would be a lot of complainers after we went to the Super Bowl... I really don't understand how some of you people think sometimes.

At 2-2, it's too early to serve crow. Put it back on the stove for a bit nidan. :)

All anybody wants is for us to win, .500 doesn't count. I don't think there would be any complaining if we won the Super Bowl. In fact, if that happened, you could probably start a petition to rename the "Super Bowl" the "Rod Graves Bowl" and most of us would sign it, we'd be so delirious with joy.

Again I didn't say that, I just asked if the off season wasn't quite the disaster some have been saying. Over and over again.

Nidan, can you point to one post in the past (you know, when we were awful year in and year out) that has said the offseason was awful and Graves deserves the blame? Because if not, then I think it's UNBELIEVABLY hypocitical of you to call others out... especially almost every darksider is ecstatic so far with what's happened, admitting NUMEROUS times in NUMEROUS threads that most of the moves they thought were horrible have been incredibly bright surprises.

good lord. get over yourself and have some perspective man.

Who the heck is Nidan to be serving crow? He acts like anytime something positive he is in someway responsible for it happening because he's Graves little champion.

things are looking pretty good so far. BUt, i kind of find it amusing that you're on here championing Graves because, for the first time in his tenure, that the team is at .500 after 4 games. Maybe they should sign him to an extension :D. Things are definitely looking up though .

Actually, being 2 and 2 is a pretty good start for the Cards based on our past seasons. I'm excited that we have a good chance to make the playoffs.

You know we've outscored our opponents by about 50 points in the fourth?

But your point is still well taken.

Nope, my feeling regarding Graves hasn't changed... yet. I still think he is average at best and a real GM would have done wonders with the cap space and high draft picks we have consistently had. But, if teams becomes a contender on a consistent basis, it may change my opinion of him.
