At this point I say we trade his ass for a 4th or 5th rounder. He flat out sucks and is the biggest BUST in the history of this franchise...

Seems we had another 1st round DB who might qualify for that award named Knight. We have a lousy record when it comes to drafting DB's especially with high picks. I recall our differences when we drafted him on whether to take him or the guy who now seems to have a lot of trouble with the law. And the law wins. Either way we would have been had.

Have him put on 30 lbs and make him a LB. The one thing he can do is hit. This situation reminds me so much of the L. Davis situation. Put him on a team that puts him in a position he can play and he immediately becomes all pro.
IMO Free Safety. And even if he doesn't cut it we'll be no worse off. We definately need to try and find a #1 CB. Green, Hood & Brown are all fine depth and role CBs but none are a true #1 IMO. If we keep Holt as depth, try and convert Rolle and pick up a "#1 CB", how will it hurt? Our pass D needs improvement.

Wilson is the Strong Safety, Holt is the FS, and no way in hell does he have that position locked up.

I am in no way a Rolle apologist, but coming out of college he was known as a bump and run corner. Clancy seems to hate bump and run and prefers the corners to play off. Rolle is usually out of his element in addition to not being very good.

I do not know how old Wilson is but he has been so good for so very long he is no youngster. I would suspect we currently have one of the lowest rated pass defenses in the NFL. Our DBs gave up over 300 yds in passing against Redman (who is Redman). Of course the pass rush greatly effects the DB's so we need an improvement there. Our DC seemed to be out of sync against Atlanta but I am not calling him out.

Never, ever, ever, draft for need.

That's S.O.P. for the Cards and will be this year too. I think the only time it can be argued we actually followed BPA is when we drafted Fitzgerald. And, that turned out pretty well.

Certainly not, but if you get midway through round 1 the whole BPA thing gets muddled and there are CBs who will be in the draft this year who will be in that muddled group.

We have a few holes to fix so we need to do it with as few acquisitions as possible. By drafting a CB that we hope would fill the #1 CB role, move Green to #2. Brown as the nickle CB. Antrell at FS. Hope that Antrell works out. If it works we acquired one player and filled two holes. If Antrell doesn't work out we are no worse off than when we started. This also includes keeping Holt as a backup Safety.

I like the idea of Antrell as as a FS; however, I am not as enamored of draft picks as some are. A good corner that is cut because of cap considerations should be considered.

I agree, but the problem is that he was probably rated as BPA on a few boards (I don't have the rest of the draft class in front of me). If he was taken even a few slots early, he's still a bust for his position.

I guess my popint is that even the BPA theory isn't fool-proof. You can still miss.

What bothers me is that we couldn't get Davis to play at the level everyone wanted him to play, we release him and he makes the Pro Bowl for Dallas. Perhaps, that's our role in the NFL, everyone's farm team. I complained plenty, about all the penalties that Davis made last year, and this year we lead the league in penalties. Go figure!

You're preaching to the choir, brother. BPA is a myth. Every single BPA is about a 50% bust probability.
