Jaws and Mayock are two of the most overrated analysts by this board.
Barring injury Stanton is going to have six more starts under Tom Moore's tutelage. He's not going to be the same player at the end of the season that he is now.
QB Ratings yesterday vs an assortment of other QB's
D. Stanton 91.4
A. Luck 90.0
A. Smith 87.5
T. Brady 85.0
C. Kaepernick 84.4
C. Newton 82.3
M. Sanchez 80.3
T. Bridgewater 76.2
P. Manning 75.3
R. Griffin III 73.3
M. Stafford 63.6
D. Carr 62.4
K. Orton 69.7
E. Manning 36.6
Carson Palmer has thrown terrible picks.
So Stanton hasnt thrown an int in the longest time, then all of a sudden he throws 2. Everyone flips out and says he can't get it done. Yes, they were bad interceptions, but do other good QB's make bad decisions too? Of course. Offense clearly went stale and the defense won us the game, but the 2 td passes to start the game set the stage, IMO. Can't really expect to put up tons of points against a top notch defense. Look at what teams do to our defense. Minimal points. Will he struggle next week in Seattle, more than likely but who doesn't struggle there? Guess I am a strong believer in Stanton because he is our QB abs still inexperienced. Call me a homer, but I am believer he will better next week.
That's not what I am saying. I am simply saying HE CAN'T do that and expect for us to keep winning ugly let alone win in the playoffs. I think he has the ability. However, if this team was blowing teams out...no big deal.
The personality of this team is to win ugly. I think it matters more that's all.
I don't think he's that difficult to evaluate. He played well on BA's scripted plays the first couple of drives. As soon as he had to start making reads and decisions he threw two picks.

I have to agree with Jaws here. Losing Palmer was a huge blow.

So did Warner.
As far as Jaws goes: he has no chin so crap just falls out of his mouth.
So did Jaws himself.
Stanton has QB'd exactly one loss for us this season. Won what now? Six?
And people are on his ass?
I don't get the panic here.
Exactly. Stanton is clearly not as good as Palmer and that will likely show in the red zone. Still, he played very well and did what was expected of him. I would suspect he'll get better in the red zone with more game time but that situation is where he makes me the most nervous. The reads and throws have to be quicker in that area and it makes sense that he will struggle there initially.Ummm even on scripted plays you have to make read and decide which guy to throw to???
