Jaws and Mayock are two of the most overrated analysts by this board.

Yup, and I do not know why Jaws doubts us... I remember after the draft when he said that freaking Lindley was going to end up the best QB from that class, so how can he doubt us now lol

Barring injury Stanton is going to have six more starts under Tom Moore's tutelage. He's not going to be the same player at the end of the season that he is now.

Are you sure Eli's isn't -36.6?

So Stanton hasnt thrown an int in the longest time, then all of a sudden he throws 2. Everyone flips out and says he can't get it done. Yes, they were bad interceptions, but do other good QB's make bad decisions too? Of course. Offense clearly went stale and the defense won us the game, but the 2 td passes to start the game set the stage, IMO. Can't really expect to put up tons of points against a top notch defense. Look at what teams do to our defense. Minimal points. Will he struggle next week in Seattle, more than likely but who doesn't struggle there? Guess I am a strong believer in Stanton because he is our QB abs still inexperienced. Call me a homer, but I am believer he will better next week.

That's not what I am saying. I am simply saying HE CAN'T do that and expect for us to keep winning ugly let alone win in the playoffs. I think he has the ability. However, if this team was blowing teams out...no big deal.

The personality of this team is to win ugly. I think it matters more that's all.

I totally understand what you are saying. A bad turnover or 2 can quickly backfire on us. I think Stanton's big thing in practice he will be working on is not telegraphing passes.

I don't think he's that difficult to evaluate. He played well on BA's scripted plays the first couple of drives. As soon as he had to start making reads and decisions he threw two picks.

Ummm even on scripted plays you have to make read and decide which guy to throw to???

Eli had 5 yesterday and he has won 2 SB's.

Stanton should've probably had 4 picks yesterday. Yet he threw some absolute dimes on third down. That second TD to Floyd and the 3rd down throw to Brown at mid-field couldn't have been thrown any better by Aaron Rodgers.

The number of teams that can win a SB with their back up QB are very few and far between. I do believe the Cards can be that team, but Stanton needs to continue to improve as the season unfolds. The Oline also must start doing a better job with run blocking. Actually this may be all that is needed because Stanton's play will automatically improve with a decent run game.

Holy crap I was out of town and didn't get to watch the game, couldn't even get to a computer. So you can imagine how OVERJOYED I was when I heard that we beat the team with the 2nd best record in the NFC!!! I was walking on air all afternoon yesterday and this morning.

Then I finally get home and oops, here's a bunch of negative posts by ASFNers. WOW man. Some people really just cant enjoy success. How can people STILL doubt this team? Honestly, it's blowing my mind. Thank goodness for page 2 and 3 of this thread, was starting to think everyone was a debbie downer. Guess I shouldn't have looked at page 1 of this thread first.. Keep killing them with the truth BIM, you the man.

What?
Stanton has QB'd exactly one loss for us this season. Won what now? Six?

And people are on his ass?

I don't get the panic here.

I can only see DS getting better from this point forward. HUGE confidence booster to get this win. No more wondering when his replacement will be returning. Instead he is the man in command for that offense. Can't wait to see him perform this weekend and prove tons of people (outside of az) wrong that say we can't win a super bowl with a back up- especially our back up! To me, I don't see Stanton as a back up. His presence on the field has been far from being inexperienced that a back up usually has.

Let's not forget that when we beat Seattle last year on the road that Palmer threw 4 picks. And a couple of them were real ugly. The key to success against Seattle is to never give up on the run game. If we persist, we can gouge them on the ground. On D, we need to shut down the run & force Wilson to beat us with his arm. It'll be LOUD in there to start the game & they will throw the kitchen sink at us right out of the gate. If we stay composed, I like our chances.

Exactly. Stanton is clearly not as good as Palmer and that will likely show in the red zone. Still, he played very well and did what was expected of him. I would suspect he'll get better in the red zone with more game time but that situation is where he makes me the most nervous. The reads and throws have to be quicker in that area and it makes sense that he will struggle there initially.
