Here's my question, can this building, w/ the roof closed, get close to as loud as seattle?

I remember the NFC Championship game in 2006, carolina/seattle, where the crowd was so overwhelming it was clear once the game started carolina didn't stand a chance.

Sigh... I love the roof open. I think football is meant to be played outside.

Close the roof. I want to win more.

Yeah, why pay for a convertible if you always have the top closed? But I know, I know ... crowd noise advantage (even if my ears hurt by the 4th qtr.)

Bring ear plugs. :D

(Seriously - saw some parents at the Falcons game who had ear plugs in younger kids' ears)

I''ve been having a bit of an email tiff with Bob Young of the Republic over this. He'd asked why was it closed at the last game? I emailed him and said "Cause Kurt likes it closed." Young: "Then he can pay for it." Me: "If it means we win I'll pay for it." Young: "Sure you will."

I'm about to email him to ask him where I send the check.

Just throwing out an idea, thinking out "loud" if you will.
Extra seats for this game means more voices and the loudness level goes up.
Some season ticket holders are actually scalpers.
Some season ticket holders won't be able to avoid the temptation to make money on these tickets.
There will be Eagles fans in the stands, how many is the question.
Open the roof so that when they cheer it can't get as loud.
Crazed Cardinal fans don't need no stickin roof closed to make it loud.
Open the Roof?

Great question. They have the ability to add almost 10k seats. They should do it this time. Not only will they get more fans in the stadium, but more revenue to resign Boldin/Dansby.

They already did sell the extra tickets. Over 70,000 seats for the game. IIRC they left the set up for last years SB and the this years Fiesta bowl in place.

Per the republic, they did add the extra seats for Sunday's game.

DeAnna, we can always air out the Stadium during the off season. :)

Just heard on the Doug and Wolf show that Wolf had dinner with Keith Brooking (Atlanta Falcons LB) over the week-end and Keith said that the crowd noise was so loud in the game they played here that he couldn't hear his coach's signals in his helmet. And he was on defense, can't imagine what it must be like playing under those conditions.

Don't know if it's possible, but...

I think it would be cool to have it open, have the anthem, F-16 flyover, then close to roof to the sound of Darth Vader's theme music in Star Wars (can't remember the correct name).

Can't remember how long the roof takes to close though.

Awesome. Which means that they should have sold those to Cards fans instead of tickets brokers.

It has to be open/closed 45 minutes before the start of the game. They have done the flyover with the roof on before. Seeing just the shadow of the F-16 is pretty cool too.
