It has to be open/closed 45 minutes before the start of the game. They have done the flyover with the roof on before. Seeing just the shadow of the F-16 is pretty cool too.

Just kill the dream! Damn you, Dreamcastrememberseverything! :mulli:

Just throwing out an idea, thinking out "loud" if you will.
Extra seats for this game means more voices and the loudness level goes up.
Some season ticket holders are actually scalpers.
Some season ticket holders won't be able to avoid the temptation to make money on these tickets.
There will be Eagles fans in the stands, how many is the question.
Open the roof so that when they cheer it can't get as loud.
Crazed Cardinal fans don't need no stickin roof closed to make it loud.
Open the Roof?
No, that is playing scared. Why would we be scared of the Eagles fans and change what we do to be better at home because of of fear of their fans?

Close and lock that damn thing. I am sooooooo sick of hearing people talk about how they want it open. I want a toilet made by LazyBoy, but you dont get everything you want. There is zero doubt that we have a bigger advantage with the roof closed so lock it up and blast the heat. Lets fry those damn iggles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One might argue that closing the roof is playing scared because we need the help to beat the iggles.
Kurt likes playing in a dome so close it. KW did just fine in Carolina.
We need the crowd noise to give us an advantage. 60,000 Cards fans can't make enough noise????? That's disrespectful to the team and especailly the FANS.
Why build a stadium with a retractable roof and never open it during a game??
I'm truly playing "devils advocate" with this. If the players truly believe they need the roof closed then close it, this year. In the future the Cards should be at a level that they don't need no stinkin roof to win.

Don't know if it's possible, but...

I think it would be cool to have it open, have the anthem, F-16 flyover, then close to roof to the sound of Darth Vader's theme music in Star Wars (can't remember the correct name).

Can't remember how long the roof takes to close though.

Excellent!

Ha! Cardiac and I may be in the minority here, but we already had enough "frying" at SDS during September games!

At some point they will have to win a game with the roof open. Football was meant to be played outdoors.

Our players on defense also have trouble hearing when the noise is loud so they revert back to hand signals.

That is a ridiculous post if I ever saw one. It just reeks of jealousy, selfishness and the need to feel victimized and I dont understand why. It is never a matter of "needing help". It is blantently obvious that the louder the fans are when a team is on offense the harder it is for them. Why wouldn't you want it to be harder for the Eagles? Put yourself before your team Mon-Sat, but on Sunday you they are #1.

Of course 60,000 fans make a ton of noise, but the point is to make it as loud as possible. Nothing about keeping their noise inside closed doors is disrespectfull, you are just loking for a way to be a victim and tell others that they are victim too. And how the HELL is it disrespectfull to the team when they have publicly asked for it to be closed??????? Absolutely ridiclous post.

KW wasn't perfect and he didn't need to be be in Carolina. We won the game because of our D and because we jumped out to an early lead and took the crowd out of the game. That would be harder for a road team to do in a dome where it is automatically louder.

Why build a stadium with a retractable roof and never open it during a game??
Because the people who built it are idiots. You can open it for concerts and things of that nature, but it is really a no-brainer that the roof should be closed for football games.

You are funny.

I am sorry but I could not disagree more with the entire sentiment of this post. This isn't the DNC or the welfare office, its the NFL!!!!!! It is a competitive sport and like we do in our own lives, you take every legal chance you have to reach your goals, succeed and do the best for you and yours. There is no mercy!!!!

Our job when the game is in Arizona is not to be as fair as possible. It is to give our team the biggest advantage possible. That is why it's called the "homefield advantage".

Why do I keep hearing this? The reason fotball used to always be playing indoors was because there were no arenas large enough to have a game in.

The only thing that football was meant to always have was an oblong ball and 11 people to each side of it per play.

A little sabotage may be in order - or roof operater throwing up his/her hands "I don't know why it isn't opening."
Remember 10 yrs ago in the divisional game at Minny? They pumped noise right at the Cards bench and no one was smart enough to cut the speaker wires.
I'm for taking full advantage.

DUDE, settle down. I clearly stated I was playing devils advocate with this. Maybe that's why I'm "funny" and "ridiculous" and etc.
Did you not read where I said if the players want it closed then close it?
That's because I do want every advantage in this game and do want the Cards in the SB.

I don't have the Helsinky syndrome or feel like a victum, well maybe a little after your post ;):D

It's all good because I know there isn't a more passionated Cardinals fan then Cardsfanmd.

Sorry being being so damn abrasive. The Mrs. and I are going at it this morning. She is trying to make me put my dog down because she doesn't like it. I've had the dog since I was 5 and I have only known her for 7 years. Dont know why she doesn't understand that the dog has seniority here.

Sending some A$FN to try and buy your love. :)

Sorry to hear about your dog. Only those who have had a pet understand that it's like losing a family member, because they are a member of the family. If your dog isn't sick and suffering then no reason to put him down.

She doesn't live with us anymore because I have young kids that would torture her. She lives with my stepfather down the street. He is out of town and needed us to watch her and Kell is throwing a fit. Super selfish and immature on her part IMO. The dog is blind and deaf, but she still wags her tail and comes when I call her and that's good enough for me.

CLOSED!!!

This from an open roof fan...but we need to be louder than we've ever been. Shut all the doors, pipe in music, glare down any iggle fans and yell into a megaphone. GET LOUD, CARDS FANS!
