QB (3): WARNER, McCown, Navarre

RB (6): ARRINGTON, Shipp, Jackson, Redmond, Ayanbadejo, Hodgins

WR (5): BOLDIN, JOHNSON, FITZGERALD, Lee, Hamilton

TE (3): EDWARDS, Bergen, Bronson

OL (9): DAVIS, WELLS, STEPANOVICH, BRIDGES, ROSS, Allen, Brown, Leckey, Newton

ST (3): PLAYER, RACKERS, HODEL

DL (9): OKEAFOR, DOCKETT, DAVIS, BERRY, Pace, Zellner, Kolodziej, King, Smith

LB (6): HUFF, HAYES, DANSBY, Blackstock, Mitchell, Darling

DB (9): ROLLE, WILSON, GRIFFITH, MACKLIN, Green, Tate, Harris, Walls, Francisco

PS (7): DE King, T., WR McCoy, WR Sheldon, TE Stokes, DT Bulman, WR Holiday, G Cantu.

These predictions will be adjusted every week after we see the tape of the next pre-season game. Post your predictions...there are some tough decisions...as you will see. I like Aaron Francisco's versatility and if he's a factor on special teams...he may well make the roster.

You can have 8 guys on the PS.

I would have to agree with all of it except for the TE's.

I dont think Edwards makes the team.

Bergen, Blizzard, Golliday.

And switch newly aquired TE Andy Stokes with WR Holliday.

And for the 8th PS spot a 4th QB to be named later.

OL: Reuber will make the team instead of Allen or Newton - No Doubt!
TE: Edwards will not go from #1 to not even earning a roster spot. Edwards and Bergen are locks for the roster IMO. Golliday will get the final spot.
DB: I don't see Francisco beating out Ohalete for the back-up FS spot. Ohalete will make the team and Francisco will end out up on the PS.

The position of the #1 returner will determine if we are going to carry 4 RBs/5WRs or 3 RBs/6 WRs.

Looking at the list there is no return man beside Bryant Johnson, so Dan Sheldon should be on that list.

Practice Squad= T. Balman DT; L.Reid CB; E. Shazor FS; A. Golliday TE; L. McCoy WR; A. Reuber OT; R. Cantu OG and A. Francisco CB/FS

There is absolutely no need for T. King DE. We have 5 DE's without him.

I'll bet they look at Rolle in a PR capacity.......against my better judgement but.....also J. Jackson is a potential here.

Sheldon is a luxury that we can't afford.......he really isn't a candidate to play any other role. He isn't a WR, although they list him that way.

When putting together a "mock" 53 man roster, one has to take into consideration as to ST's. For this reason, we need to allow for the F. Morrow's and A. Mayes'. This is why I can't see Edwards, Allen and Walls on the eventual roster.

And just because E.Edwards made the team last year, it was more by default than because of meritous play. He really isn't that good at all.

The TE spots are completely wide open. #1 can easily be #5 on the depth chart. And with Edwards missing 2 weeks and 2 preseason games most likely he can easily fall down the depth chart when the others show what they got or dont got. And it isnt like Edwards and his 5 catches have a big jump on the other guys in the first place.

God if we have Rolle returning punts I'll be stunned. He's going to be too heavily counted on for defense to risk on punts.

I'm really hoping Sheldon turns out to be the PR. I don't care if he is too small to play WR all we need him to do is return some kicks.

I agree. The return game has been neglected for to long and so many other teams neglect it as well. This game is about field position and if Sheldon improves that for us I am all for that. And with our D, we should be hoping for a lot of Punt return opportunites.

If we have to keep only 8 DL instead of 9 in order to keep 6 WR's, then so be it.

I don't see the Cards carrying a 4th QB on the roster this year. If they do it would mean that Green in not satisfied with the progress, or lack of, that Navarre shows. If he believes Navarre has potential, no need to carry another "potential" QB.

RE: Tight end - not a clue at this jucture who will make it, but I am pulling for Bronson. He is big, and tough, like DG likes his tight ends. He may be the best blocker of the group, but probably the weakest in pass routes. Up until last season Bronson was a DE for JoePa, he made the switch because Penn State was more in need of a TE than DE.

It is by no means an indicator of what Green thinks about Navarre.

But most teams keep a 4th QB on the PS regardless of who they have at the #3 even if they really like their #3. Its just what teams do.

Plus Green has a history of changing QB's every year. I checked and he never once in Minnesota had the same #1, 2 and 3 QB for consecutive years, he always makes at least one change. This year the change is of course Warner but I would imagine he'll want to have a #4 on the PS to look at so he can see if that guy has the potential to unseat Navarre or Josh. With Denny, if you're not the starting QB you BETTER be progressing or you're gone.

Just taking a guess here, but...
Check if teams the teams that carry 4 QB's have got:
  • one starter and three guys with potential (McCown, Navarre, #4 PS player)
    or
  • one starter, one solid journeyman back-up type, and two guys with potential.

There isn't a rookie or PS eligible QB out there right now.........maybe one will surface "going forward", but I doubt it.

There is always one out there.

Heck if we kept Freaking Lewis on the PS, will find another guy.

Not sure, but I do know that more then 75% of the teams last year had 4 QB's total with one of them on the PS, and a few even had 4 QB's on the 53 man roster.

Can't disagree with any of your predicted roster spots except to predict that:

Based on last year's MO, there will be at least a couple of surprise cuts, an unexpected addition or two and a couple of surprise "survivors."
