To be fair to the OP and Chopper, if there's draft pick compensation for Ivory, it's a no-go. But if he's tendered at the original-round level or right-of-first refusal, you don't have to provide a draft pick, because he's an undrafted free agent.

If he's tendered at all, I don't want him, because we'd have to pay him some $2M this year to make it worth his while to leave.

I would be shocked if New Orleans tendered Ivory. I cant see them paying their 4th RB 1.3 mil.

per Jurecki on twitter...

"Depending on the tender offer RB Chris Ivory receives from the #saints (undrafted) he's a restricted FA, look for the Cards to pursue Ivory"

I am excited because Ivory is a guy I really like and think he could be a very good player. It is Jurecki and we will see what happens, but potentially some good news.

This kid could be great as a full time starter. Has a great burst and at, what 220lbs, can run you over. Soft hands too.

Id give up a few picks for this kid.

Why would you give up a draft pick and a 2+mil contract for a guy who has spent most of his career on the bench?

I like Ivory as much as anyone on this board, but I don't think I would match a 0 draft pick and 1.4mil tender for Ivory. Money is precious, and I would call the Saints bluff. If they want to pay their #4 RB 1.4mil, let them.

And yet the Saints keep using high draft picks to keep him on the bench. Do you think that Sean Payton is stupid?

Can't stay healthy; can't put Mark Ingram on the bench. Has one reception for every season he's been in the NFL.

Sounds like a "godfather offer" guy.
