Diaw is an expiring too.
Diaw expires in 2012.
Diaw is an expiring too.
Diaw is an expiring too.
It appears Diaw has a player option for $9M for next season.

So if Diaw exercises his option, the Suns can use him like an expiring contract next season... if there is one. The key issue, is Tyrus worth it.
Diaw's contract is not a expiring, 2011/12 is a player option ($9 million).
So I won't do this trade.
Looking at some Bobcats fans thoughts on the trade, they wouldn't do the trade either. Their very hyped on Tyrus Thomas. Some even say they wouldn't trade him unless they get a superstar in return.

Probably a lonely keyboard.Anyone know where this started?

So we give up Carter's huge expiring contract (sans $4 million) for Diaw who has a player option next year for $9 million and Mohammed who is expiring. Oh yeah, and we have to include a first round pick as well. You must be registered for see imagesby ray ray on Sun Feb 20, 2011 10:16 am
The Suns are very hesistant to take on TyThomas contract so they where looking for a third team and they might just have found them. New revised trade;
Suns
outgoing: Vince Carter 17mil 1st round pick (im guessing its orlando's pick but I havent been able to confirm)
incoming: Boris Diaw 9mil Nizar Mohammed 6mil (expiring)
Clippers
outgoing: Chris Kaman 11.8mil Craig Smith 2.3 mil
Incoming: Vince Carter 17mil (4 mil player buyout) 1st round pick from Suns
Bobcats
outgoing:Boris Diaw 9mil Nizar Mohammed 6mil
Incoming: Chris Kaman 11.8mil Craig Smith 2.3 mil
The only thing is that the Bobcats want instant salary relief, so they want Vince Carter going their way. So the first trade that I posted is still a possability but the Suns dont want another 6 mil player that they believe is a Lou Amudsen type of player but more expensive. IMO, its a 60% chance that the first propose trade happens. Now the second propose trade has a much better chance of happening.
The latest rendition of the rumor... It gets worse.

This trade stinks of Sarver's short term thinking. If we get Diaw, our chances of squeaking into the playoffs increase, but we give up flexibility this summer and a pick that could bring in some young talent or be used as a bargaining chip to actually improve the team. This isn't 2006 where we are going to waltz into the postseason and play the Pau-less Lakers and then draw the overachieving Clippers in the second round to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
Perhaps we can flip Mohammed to a team in need of a competent big man like San Antonio for their playoff run. They could use a legitimate big to pair next to Duncan and Mohammed has experience playing for Popovich. Orlando comes to mind as well, but they have nothing to offer.
Vince Carter has a $4,000,000 buyout, so you could say that we would be paying Boris Diaw $5 million next season.
anybody think of one reason why the Clippers would make this deal? Surely they could get more for Kaman, couldn't they?
