Was really interesting watching beanie, williams, and LSH tonight.

Beanie - Ive been a Beanie fan since he got here and have supported him through everything. He looked decent on a couple runs tonight but on every one of them ABC showed a replay from behind him and he was missing holes like crazy. Even on that play with the stiff arm he cut right at the end when it looked like he could have beat everyone to the endzone by just running the sideline. I still have to blame the o-line because they looked awful that first series. Hes definitley more of a one cut back which is not great considering our line blows. I think with a bad line its better to have a back with quick feet that can adjust. Im hoping he just needs the snaps to settle in cause i love the kid.

LSH - i thought he was overlooked tonight. Hes obviously quick and looks like he may have bulked up a bit. After watching him tonight im almost angry at the depth the cards have at runningback because i think he could be a real game changer. His speed suits the offense well and he can obviously catch the ball out of the backfield.

Williams - this guy looked like the real deal tonightninthink we can all agree. Hes quick, powerful, and nifty. Of all the guys he really made nothing look like something. He made the line look decent because it seemed like he just made something happen. Its difficult to judge him since he didnt really get in untilnthe 2nd half but you can tell hes got ability thats for sure. I hate to say it but he made beanie look like the rookie tonight.

Conclusion - i wish the cards had a BEAST o-line because this trio of runningbacks has the potential to do some serious damage.

I love what our running game could be. A versatile back like Williams followed by a power back like Wells followed by a scatback in LSH? Great stuff, potentially.

Question: If Beanie Wells missed that many holes, doesn;t that mean the OL had opened holes for him? So maybe they werent quite as bad?

Did anyone else think that if THT was still on the team, we would have punched it in on that second drive of the game?

You know, that, or else he would fumble...

Man, Beanie ran over that packer on purpose last year, could have went around him too!
Beanie is a punisher, I like that. You get him with a play caller that mixes in both the run and the pass in the same series and you have something special.

I agree with Beanie after about 7 rushes, the chess game begins, He will steal their Will! and that helps the rest of the team.

Many can do what Rwill can do but few can breakdown a defense like Beanie Wells, mark my word, and watch the 2nd ranked GB rush defense in the 09 playoff game, before the pass fest, when we had a 3 score lead in the 1st 1/4.

Were on our way, I just hope Mike Miller learns how to call a balanced game by week 1. It would be a brutal experience.

Yeah, he would have seen the hole close up and made the corner instead. He would have been hit as he crossed the line and fumbled. They would have ruled it a turnover but the replay would clearly show to everyone (except for the officials of course) that the fumble occurred after he broke the goal line.

I think we have a DeAngelo Williams/Jonathan Stewart RB situation on our hands. Good for the Cardinals, bad for fantasy football players.

Beanie still has a TON to prove. He technique is all wrong as he runs WAY to high. A guy with his size and supposed strength should be running with his pads lower to the ground, using his leverage and strength to destroy guys who decide to take him on straigth up.
He needs to show WAY more desire to punish people. I'm just not seeing it with him and I would not be surprised at all if Williams is our starter very early in the season.

As for Williams, damn he just looks like a high-caliber RB. He stays low (get a friggin clue Beanie!), uses his power (he's got great leg strength), and his quickness! His side to side quickness is awesome!

LSH is just a pure football player, period! Great speed and quickness. Great strength for such a little man. HUGE heart and determination! LOVE him and LOVE him being on our team!!

Sure it was but that's all he's got. Williams is the better all around player, it's time to shop your guy before the league brands him a has-Bean.

That ****** was nice, but Beanie is in jeopardy and being gimpy or Whiz aren't the "reasons" this time. He's got to put up numbers or his job will be gone baby gone.

WOW

I'm high on the bean as always, I don't see him as a one trick pony at all, I see him as elite power, great in traffic, great in the open field, and great at the WR position, and all around punishing monster, against the big boys, like the Packers! in the playoffs!

Feed him 20+ times each game, and watch what happens! If it ever happens, you know mix a balance of run and pass like a real football team.
but we look like 2/3rds pass again.

RWill looks great. better than THT. Can't wait to see him as a receiver?

He's great in traffic if the defenders all stay upright and try to shove him out of bounds or tackle his head but other than that, he's the opposite of great in traffic. He goes down way too easy when he's hit below the knees and I have this sneaking suspicion that other teams watch film and are pretty aware of this fact. We should have benched him after his good run. That might have been our best chance to trade him from a position of strength.

I wish I could call him 7+ runs a 1/4, actually alternating between pass and runs. you know like a real NFL team. set up the chess game where he actually gets to set up runs later on in the half and in the game.

But He is a 7 or less runs a game back in this system, it is what it is, but if you look over his body of work in the NFL, He has performed some pretty sweet plays in less than 300 NFL rushes, and WR catches, I have hope that Grimm and Kolb try to put at least 15% of the offense through him.
should be closer to 60% to get the most out of Fitz.

Even in this deep pressure offense, it should be 50% run formations with 10% dedicated to play action, 50% pass formations with 10% dedicated to sneaky runs. Kolb and the Cards was not helped by all them passes in a row,

Mike miller tried the spread formation on 4th and goal, and ran The Bean for the 5th time in a row. I give him credit. play action would have worked well on 2nd down. but hey it is the 1st preseason game, I'm happy.
