For preseason Cards avg 180 yards per game. Have 6 rushing TDs. Long runs of 82, 69 and 53 yards and 5.41 overall average per rush. This done without Emmitt Smith and Leonard Davis.

Anderson is the #1 rushing back in the NFL this preseason by a long shot!

Preseason! Exactly.

This show one thing about Anderson. He is explosive. Which is a great thing. But he is no where near Shipp, or Smith.

I think they keep all three. And make Anderson a 3rd Down back.

Big play type of guy is good to have.

as stated in another thread..we will probably cut rue and try to keep him on the practice squad - but he is one guy that someone else may try to put on their roster...he is a guy that was a huge unknown - but now that he has established some credibility - someone could put him on their roster - I think scouts were aware he was a great athlete - they just questioned why he was out of football last year and the very small college he went to.

I have never gotten the story on where he was last season - he seems to at least be an upgrade over machovicha and mckinley - I never noticed those two doing much in the preaseason..

I think we are experiencing a bit of what made the Broncos successful. A very strong o-line and quality backs. We just plug one in and move the chains. We have to keep Rue somehow. Practice squad, European allocation or back up FB. The guy showed alot for a no-name player.

Maybe all those "naysayers" who credited the Cardinals lack of a successful running attack to Mackovica were proved right after all.

I for one am glad we will never again see JM go in motion and stop behind the line at the spot where the Cards intend to run the ball. It was a short yardage play that for some reason the Cards ran no matter what the down and distance.

IMO the FB acquisitions were the best moves of the off season.

Duckjake, you have brought back painful, repressed memories. How many 3rd and shorts did I watch where Joel did that shuffle step motion routine-- I would get up off of the couch, or out of my seat at SDS -- NOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo! Only to see no gain, 4th down, here comes Scott Player.

May we never see that play again.
