Barry Sonnenfeld to Direct RV
Source: Production Weekly
February 1, 2005

Barry Sonnenfeld ("Men in Black" films) will direct Robin Williams in the comedy RV, says Production Weekly. Production on the film will start in May on location in Los Angeles.

Williams will play Bob McNeive, the patriarch of an average dysfunctional American family who is about to set off on the most dangerous, high-stakes, life-threatening and traumatizing adventure of their lives: two weeks together in a RV.

Lowell Ganz and Babaloo did a rewrite of the original script by Geoff Rodkey.

Woohoo. How long has it been since we had a Robin Williams comedy? :D

I saw the "trailer" on tv, and I agree.

Yeah, if the trailer looks bad (which i agree on), the movie can't be much better...

I'll pop in the Vacation movies instead :)

Somehow I actually saw a commercial for this, or maybe it was on ET or something. Anyway, it seemed like they were copying this movie……

Which would suck, because this is one of my favorite movies of all time.

I just picked this up from the library. It did pretty good at the box office ($71 million), but only has a 5.3 rating at IMDB.

I just watched it. My expectations were extremely low for this one, so I wasn’t disappointed. I was surprised to see Jeff Daniels, I had no idea that he was in it. The parts that included Daniels’s family were actually pretty funny. You could see some of the jokes coming from a mile away, but some of them were still funny.
