My initial reaction is this is awful. I mean they must really think that Channing Frye is going to get a big offer because I would rather have Frye. I'd rather keep Channing Frye, and then we wouldn't have to give up Gerald green and a draft pick. And, the more I think about it the more awful I think this is.

I really hope this isn't going to happen. Oh God, and what's worse is the idea of reading BC and Ernknight griping about it for the next two years.

Somebody please tell me what I'm missing here.

Joe

Hey now, I complain about soft PFs too! I feel left out. :D

wasn't anderson injured last year, what's his progress on the return from that? green was one of the most dynamic players we had last year, THEN we add in a FIRST round pick.. unbelievable

Was that a rumor?

Gambo (yeah, I know) has been spouting that the Suns have interest in Deng for the past few weeks. It'd make sense to replace Green with Deng and Anderson. Definite upgrade IF Anderson is healthy.

I've seen nothing about Suns going after Deng, but even without him, SG/SF rotation is getting tight, especially if Bledsoe and Dragic both stay and Dragic has to play SG for 24 minutes per game or so.

I don't get the feeling we're bringing Tucker back so that opens up some minutes. I've heard Deng's name mentioned for us several times but I think they were more in the line of "we should go after him" than actual rumors. I hope I'm wrong on Tucker though, the guy gives us some sorely needed toughness. We may need a better starter than him but he's such a great role player. I think we'll regret it if someone throws more money at him than we're willing to offer.

It's not like the Suns get any softer if they replace Frye with Anderson and Anderson has actually been very consistent in his career.

they don't get softer, but they limit themselves to playing a certain way and take up cap space to improve in the process.

bottom line for me, an off-season of adding Deng/Anderson moves the needle...but doesn't move it all that much and would be pretty expensive locking us into a 6-8 seed for the forseeable future unless Len somehow becomes a superstar.

You are spot on! The worst thing the Suns can do is sign over the hill players who are "good". Until you can sign a star, you gotta develop stars. I would rather watch Archie Goodwin than Deng. Now, if you can sign a real difference maker, by all means- do it, but don't just sign folks because they will push you to making playoffs, and MAYBE winning one round.

Deng is a SF and the future of Tucker is not assured. If Green gets traded, I see Goodwin getting minutes.

Easy to say, and I don't disagree. But we're hardcore basketball fans who are reading/posting on message boards about the Suns while we should probably be at work. We're not the ones who fill up 20,000 seats.

I can understand why owners are OK filling their rosters with guys just good enough to consistently make the playoffs.

Suns haven't locked themselves into anything that will restrict their flexibility yet and they still have a ton of wiggle room with future picks. Moving the needle some may be what is needed to attract stars to play in Phoenix.

Didn't you say the Suns would struggle to win 20 last summer?

I'm pretty sure your prognosticator license is still under suspension.

Green / #27 is too much for Anderson ... Marcus Morris / #27 for Anderson seems better to me - Heck, #27 for Anderson may be fair, considering the Afflalo and Asik trade ...

Gerald Green is a critical part of the Suns identity - I would be shocked if he's traded at all ...

I sure hope they hang onto Gerald Green. We're pretty much set at guard with Dragic, Green and Goodwin. Maybe Bledsoe if he resigns. Otherwise we could use another point guard, maybe from this draft. I say keep the brothers, resign Green and Tucker. We have Len and Plum Dog up front. Dragic, Green and Goodwin in the back court. We just need to add a star and another talent to the future core. If Bledsoe doesn't want to come back we can do a sign and trade perhaps?

If I make up some BS rumor and get someone to vouch for me then is that a "legit" source?

Alright so Kieff, #14 and #18 for Al Horford is in the works right now.

He already leaked the Asik trade so maybe you try to work on your reputation first.

In all fairness, none of us thought they were going to be much better.

seriously. If I should shut down my crystal ball skills, I'm guessing 90 percent of the rest of the board should too.
