shazier just run 4.36 at his pro day, adding this to 42 vertical leap 25 reps 10.08 broad jump ..just crazy numbers
made his case to be selected by cardinals at 20
6'1 237 lb.
I know bowles prefer bigger but how much speed we can have on the field with him and washington...
We have so many great alternatives for our first pick..

That's incredible by itself, but when you combine it with his production on the field it's almost unheard of. Combine freaks happen every year, but not ones that proved in on the field also.

Question is - Does he fit into our D?

How does a LB corp of D Wash, Shazier, Minter, Abrahams sound?... and if he doesn't get too crazy on his demands D Wash, Shazier, Dansby, Abraham.

But can Shazier play OLB in a 3-4?

He had good stats against Big 10 competition if you can call them competition. However I think he struggles in the NFL where he will get engulfed by the bigger more atheletic players there.

I thought the same thing, but he's only a few lbs lighter than Von Miller was coming out of school.

I guess on this one, I'll just have to say, In Bowles I trust. If he thinks he fits enough to pound the table for him, I certainly won't disagree.

Miller was 10lbs heavier and had a frame to add weight to. Shazier does not have much room to grow.

No way that guy is there at 20 with numbers like that.

I think he's put himself in the discussion with Barr and Mack now. When it's all said and done, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him taken over one of them.

If he is there at 20, we at least have to consider it regardless of his size.

NOW... everyone is thinking he is worth the 20th pick because of pro day while most said they would be disappointed if we drafted him in the 1st before forty times. Screw that Pro Day, I watched him play on the field and he was my pick for the Cardinals from the start of off season :D

That's the great thing about Shazier. All too often a workout warrior that no one had ever heard of during the season, works his way up draft boards because of combine/pro day numbers. This is far from that scenario. This is a player that everyone knew because of his great play on the field that ALSO lit up his combine/pro day.

Shazier is one of my favorite players in this draft. He plays hard and fast, oh so fast. Is versatile. I think he could play OLB, WILB and even perhaps SS in our system. Would make a great spy on Wilson and Kaepernick. He would bring them down before they got rolling.

I think he would make a GREAT SS Mitch!!! OLB at the NFL level, I'm not so sure on. Plus doesn't Bowles like his OLBs bigger to hold the edge just like Parcells did?

Can he play OLB is the question cause we don't need another MLB. Maybe SS in our system. Allot of people are saying Barr is going to be the guy that slips on draft day

Mitch, my problem with the comparison is that your talking about 1 guy playing inside & the other outside. I don't doubt the tools, I doubt the fit especially when Bowles likes bigger thick OLBs.

Are you saying you would play Shazier at ILB? If so I could see that or him a SS. He's definately a player!

It's unconventional, but between a DC as creative as Bowles and a player as talented as Shazier, I've got to believe there's a place for him somewhere.
