Very doubtful. By no means can he and DW be the ILB crew.

I don;t see why you are doubtful. Dansby wasn't successful because of his physicality last year...it was his speed and instincts. I don't see any reason why you wouldn't pair Washington and Shazier together. They would never leave the field. It is the job of the DL to shoot gaps and force teams to pinch which allows ILBs to run free.

Agreed...although I think Minter at SILB and Washington at WILB is a very good fit...especially if we sign a SS who can cover TEs. Minter is good, people.

I haven't seen enough of Minter to feel like he can just step and be fine in coverage which was dansby's biggest strength. I know Minter can hit, but that part of playing ILB is becoming a nice complementary feature rather than a primary one.

I don't know. That's two pretty undersized guys in the middle of the field. I guess it could work but I have my doubts. Dansby may not have played physical but he wa still a big guy that could handle blockers when needed.

Any chance that Shazier could convert to SS?
I would guess that's doubtful too. He's never played the position and that would kind of negate his best asset, which is speed at the LB position. He'd probably just be a bit above average, speed-wise, for a safety and who knows if he can cover WR's/TE's or has the ball skills needed to play Sfatery.

Hasn`t Shazier added 10 lbs or so ?My concern with him is can he hold edge versus the run.If he can keep bulking up and keep his speed then why not take him in round 1.As of now it looks like RD 1 will be either OLB or Safety. Then maybe BASK goes BPA.

Yes. He played last year closer to 220 which is tiny by NFL standards. He wouldn't be my first choice at 20 but I could see him being in the mix.

I'm hoping some bad rumors come out about Anthony Barr and he actually makes it to 20.

Most ILBs seem to weight around 245 so I wonder if Shazier could get close to that. That being said, you probably have seen more of him than I have so I kinda bend to your analysis. I just like that he shown to be an instinctive and explosive player when I have watched him. I like the idea of adding a player inside who can make plays behind the offenses line of scrimmage while also being athletic enough to get deep and wide in coverage. I can easily find someone to some in on 3rd and 1, where I struggle is to find someone who can make plays on 2nd/3rd and long.

or bad rumors on Khalil Mack...ok, not going to happen.

I would be very happy with Barr or Ford in round 1 OR Van Noy, Shazier, D Lawrence in round 2. With Dansby gone and our lack of burst outside, I think all four of these guys could fill one of these two holes. Shazier and Van Noy inside, Ford or Lawrence outside.
