The good: The guy's confidence is something special. I have no doubt that he's putting as much into his rehab as humanly possible.

The bad: He's trying to come back by the start of the season, but coaches have told him that Week 3 or Week 4 is a more realistic goal. If that's the case, adding another RB probably wouldn't be a bad idea.

Wow he could miss a quarter of the season! That's not real encouraging.

well damn. I was looking forward to seeing him get in there. Guess I gotta wait a little longer. I think he'll be studying his ass off though, so when he gets to finally get out there, he'll be as ready as he can be. The kid strikes me as pretty intelligent and highly motivated

again... depending on an injured running back to back up our already injured/injury prone starting running back is a recipe for disaster.

this has depending on Gerald Hayes all over again after his back surgeries and going out and doing nothing to make sure we were covered.

bring in hightower until williams is healthy.

Hey don't forget we have Javarris James. He only had 46 carries last season and scored 6 TDs!

He's supposed to be Edge's cousin but I think he must be related to Larry Kinnebrew.

Somebody get something straight for me. Coming out of college, the knock on James was he lacked enough speed to be a threat in the NFL. Is he slow or does he have adequate speed.

Nothing like putting more pressure on the QB and the passing game.

Week 3 or 4, huh? We're talking about a 15 month recovery period?

Drafting Ryan Williams was a huge unforced error. Great kid, but you can't take an injury risk like him that high.

We made that mistake when we passed on Adrian Peterson.

i know you guys don't want to hear it... but no matter how smart/driven Williams may be, expecting anything of this kid this year after the injury he suffered last year is pure folly.

I'm not expecting Barry Sanders right out of the gate. I just want to see him continue to improve once he starts getting good time on the field

you shouldn't expect anything out of the gate.... or good time on the field. truth hurts, but y'all are setting yourself up for disappointment expecting anything from him this season.

Agree for two reasons: obviously, the major knee injury. But also, he will be a de facto rookie. The kid still has yet to take a meaningful hand off in the league, and against a starting defense nonetheless.

Any positive we get out of Williams should be considered a bonus, IMO. What's more important is Beanie's rehab from his own knee surgery.

i don't want it to be true, but I fear we're setting ourselves up for failure in the running game depending on two incredibly injury prone running backs.

The good news is there are some viable running backs still available if Williams is not progressing. Ced Bensons still out there right?

Why wouldnt we see something from williams this year? He may not be 100% but he can get close to it, plus hes young and its not like hes going to get 30 carries a game, probably more like 8-15

Williams being available in week 4-5 is no big deal. Wells will handle the bulk of the carries early on anyway.

if even Wells can! The Cards need a RB in the worst possible way
