Looking at this game, I think we need to drastically change the system back to that 2005-06 style where it was basically live by the jumpshot or die by the jumpshot (especially 3's)

I know its ridiculous to do when we have both stat and shaq, but it is the only way to really become unpredictable and have a dark horse in the playoffs type of chance.

More focus on outside jumpshots from Jrich, barbosa, nash, and barnes and less dumping it down to shaq all the time.

We should use the pick and roll between amare and nash only in rare circumstances, and dump it down into shaq only in rare circumstances.

Yeah, we won't be what you would consider a solid or fundamentally sound team, but at least this way if the shots are really dropping we could beat anybody.

Good idea. The rationale is to reserve your most effective weapon for the most difficult times. Shaq's game is predictable AND reliable, but it works only for no more than 20 minutes a game. Use it wisely instead of wasting all his energy in the first couple of minutes.

Starting the game with getting some shooters hot via set plays means working on the weak part of our games first. With hot hands established, they demand closer defense which would open up the space for others too. Particularly Nash needs to establish a catch-and-shoot game early on. One of our problems has been that Nash shoots too little, so that the defense can contain him by shadowing him from far away to take the room for p&r away. With credible shooting touch and willingness, it forces the opposing PG, or the switching big, to stay/step closer, which then enables better passing lanes to get the ball to Amare.

Was I cut off? I heard the guy say thanks for the call and then it was silent for seconds...I wanna hear myself, does this show save audio online?

Went to my first regular season Suns game tonight - I should go more often!

Suns were doing all the little things - passing, rolling out on D, taking charges - great to see for once.

Biggest win ever at US Airways.

He cut you off while you were still talking and said "thanks for the call afterwards." I must say that you appeared to be the most knowledgeable caller that they had tonight.

Thanks for the complement, I had other stuff to do, but those people before me got me irritated...I just tried to sound calm and relaxed and not nervous

The Suns win by 40+ on your first game. You need to go more often. ;)

I bet a few Suns fans went back to the kool aid stand after this win. I for one am sticking to just plain old H20 because I don't buy into this victory!

I just got back from the game tonight. We stayed until the team hit a 50 point lead. JRich was just sick and the team played well on both sides. The way they played I think they could have beaten just about anybody (not by what they did) but they could have won.

Having said that....they can't play like that every night and does not mean all is well. Changes still need to be made.

Grant Hill is going to shut Salmons down, JRich is going to hit 7 3-pointers, Shaq has 12/12/2 before he sits out because we're up by 17 at the start of the 4th. Amare with 28/8.

Suns 108
Kings 90
Oh snap!

"Grant Hill is going to shut Salmons down" Check
"JRich is going to hit 7 3-pointers" Nope but he ended up with enough 2 pointers to make up for it!

"Shaq has 12/12/2 before he sits out because we're up by 17 at the start of the 4th" Ok sat out with 10/9/2 because we were up by FORTY EIGHT
"Amare with 28/8" 25/8

"Suns 108
Kings 90"

I wish I wasnt so pessimistic!

Sac-town just got SUNS'd!!!!!!1

Likewise, but it is a little bit re-assuring to see that they at least have some pride and wants to come out and show this is still a talented team.
It is still a bit worrisome when they have 17 turnovers, which may be due partly to the pace of the game.

A lot of those turnovers were courtesy of the fourth-quarter scrubs, including Barnes. I think they turned it over on four consecutive possessions at one point; it could even have been five. Porter should have called a time out and ripped into them. All they were doing was reinforcing bad habits.
