Could it be the Suns finally add a big man with some height? I like the idea of the Suns adding such a player but I can't help thinking that Steven Hunter might do just as well back in Phoenix. Diop certainly added another dimension to the Mavs team.

Anyway, I would love for the Suns to add a young athletic 4/5 and another ball handler.

IMO the suns have bigger needs to fill than to pick up a project C.

i just see Sene as another Dalambert.

not too much

basically said he is enjoying the workouts.

grew up in senegal. his family lives in a small village.

he played soccer all his life, and started bball 3 yrs ago

moved to belgium to play bball

played in the 2nd division, that got easy after awhile, moved up

shotblocking is his best attribute

worked out with the jazz and other teams as well

Guys that play soccer usually turn out to be decent basketball players.

Nash, Akeem.........

You just sold me if this were true. The Suns need a shotblocker and inside presence like Dalembert. A player like Dalembert could definitely fill a role on this team.

what i mean was that Dalambert was supposed to be this great player, and he really hasnt lived up to the hype one bit. hell he got his $10mil per year contract.

now look at the hype Sene is getting. Realgm has him going at #5. the soonest ANYONE should pick him up is #15.

this kid might end up being great, but i see him being no better than Dalambert is now (7 and 7) even in 3 years or so. Sene would be a good pickup i guess at #21, but we shouldnt consider trading up to grab him.

I agree, the Daly comparison isn't really flattering(though not as bad as a Chandler comparison). Daly is just good enough that he got grossly overpaid based on his size and athletic ability. A prime Mutumbo would be a more favorable comparison and that may be possible if reports of how quickly he learns are true. I'm still not quite sold on him though.

i must also add that it wouldnt make much sense to draft the guy if he werent able to make an immediate controbution to the team.

if Tim Thomas bails on us, then our front court is pretty thin. Amare/KT/Diaw and who else Grant/Burke? yikes. we need someone who can make some sort of impact on a regular basis. and there are a few more polished guys that should be on the board that can do that.

I agree 100%, sometimes I think people are so center crazy here they would take a center that shoots 30 times a game even if they lost 60 games a year and be happy with it.

Dalembert would be a beast on a different team.

Philly really doesnt use him properly, and most of the blame lays on the shoulders of Iverson who never passes him the ball.

His points usually comes off of putbacks and wideopen dunks.

Switch Dalembert with Chandler on the bulls and he would already average 15/10/2bpg.

Put him on the Suns and give him 30+mpg and the skys the limit.

Does their 'wish list' include every player in the draft, or just the players they think they can get?

If it's the latter, 4th place might not mean very much.

Honestly some of you guys crack me up. If we could draft a player that is going to be as good as Dalambert in three years with either draft pick or both of them packaged together it's a no-brainer. Daly isn't worth his contract, but he is worth at least half of it.

I guess the thing that gets me is that people form such strong opinions from a little bit of reading or 10 minutes worth of video. I can understand the strong opinions on these college players because there's more to go on.

This is the way I figure it. There's two ways to go in the draft with each pick. You can either draft someone who might be able to help off the bench for a championship run next year, or you can take a guy with amazing potential. I think given the Phoenix Suns current payroll they would have to feel strongly about the potential of a player like Sene in order to take him.

I don't have much of an opinion on Sene, but I don't really like the idea of waiting until Sene is up for a new contract before he shows anything and gets paid 2x as much as he's worth. My main concern with Sene is I can't think of any 7 foot athletic freaks that show any kind of basketball acumen that fall out of the lottery and become anything.

It's not all that uncommon finding players that become more productive than Dalembert has been at that part of the draft.

The Phoenix Suns could use a player like Dalembert in his sophomore season (I believe he was injured almost his entire rookie season). We are talking about someone that could come in and play the middle for around 10 minutes per game.

I'm not saying we should or shouldn't take this guy. I haven't seen enough video to form a strong opinion although I will say that he looked better in that video than I imagined he would. I just don't understand based on what we've seen why some people are so sure he's going to be great while others are sure he'll bust.

I was impressed with Sene in the Hoops Summit game... he can run, block shots, and finish around hoop (Hunter) and Hunter did play 13.8 minutes two years back... I guess it depends on who's there at #21 but it did seem like the Team wants to leave a Prospect overseas?

In the article on Suns.com D'A says Sene is still a couple years away. Nothing I didn't already guess but it's hard not to read into it when it's coming from the coach. He also called him a project. On the plus side Mark West said he could shoot well.

Right now, you really can't believe anything GM's say about players. We are in the official "disinformation week" of the NBA.

I believe they are trying to move up. The more they talk about it, the more offers they'll get from other teams. I don't believe anything they say about players.
