If the New Orleans Saints want to trade back into the first round for a quarterback, the Minnesota Vikings may be a willing participant.

As the NFL draft approaches, there have been as many as five quarterbacks who have been thrown in as potential first-round picks. Originally, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders were potential top-five picks and the only quarterbacks expected in the first round.

Then, Jaxson Dart began to gain steam and has even been discussed as the second quarterback off the board. Jalen Milroe has become the talk of draft circles for a week or so. Tyler Shough is the latest quarterback to be mentioned as a potential top-32 pick.

This late chatter could be nothing more than chatter, or it could be media catching up to how teams view these players. It's improbable they all go in the first round, but if the Saints want one of those players specifically, they may have to jump back into the first round to get him.

Depending on how the first three picks of the draft go, the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants could both be looking for a quarterback late in the first round or early in the second. Both teams pick ahead of the Saints, and waiting for the player you want to fall could be risky.

The Vikings have the 24th pick in the first round. After that, they only have three more picks for the remainder of the draft. They should step into this draft looking to deal.

The Saints would likely have to give up a third-round pick to make the move. Minnesota may even accept the Saints' second third-rounder if New Orleans adds more picks to the deal.

This trade would allow the Saints to jump ahead of other teams picking early in the second round, as well as the Los Angeles Rams at No. 26. The Rams are a sneaky team that could grab a quarterback to sit behind Matthew Stafford for a year.

Trading with the Vikings lets New Orleans get ahead of all the teams who may draft a quarterback without having to give a lot in exchange. Minnesota is a team that should be waiting for the phone to ring, so it would truly be a win-win.
