Hall out with a knee cap injury. Maybe it will linger until next week. We need all the help we can at this point.

how come we seem to be the only team in the league that can NEVER run a trick play for positive yardage.

Hell, I can remember a flea-flicker play where Plummer threw a seven yard pass which was intercepted. I mean, not only was it picked, but we ran a flea-flicker to throw a SEVEN YARD PASS?!

the whole frickin' broadcast is like one big sob story telethon. Ok, ok, New Orleans is a dirty, scummy, smelly city that became a worse dirty, scummy, smelly city and they are trying to rebuild and have progressed over the year. Great - it's ESPstinkin'N; **** already and get on with football without the tissues....

I agree, I hate to be a heartless bastard about it, but they act like this is the first game the Saints have played since Katrina. We are all aware that Katrina happened AND we all agree that it sucks. MOVE ON!! Not to mention I almost fell out of my chair laughing at Tony K and his sappy drivel at the opening. Glad someone wrote up a speech for you Tony.

I expected the sobbing in pregame and the MNF countdown but since I AM a heartless bastard, I thought they just 'play on'.

At least the fans in the stands have seemed to have moved on. On to alcohol poisoning. Damn, they do party hard in NO

Every national televised Saints game for the next 5-10 years will be just like this. NO is nowhere near close to being rebuilt and the city needs all the national public help and attention it can get. IMO, the NFL should give NO, whether the Saints are good or not, some Sun and Mon night games for the next couple seasons. They need all the help they can get, let the sobfest continue if thats what it takes

Unfortunately Benson will move this team as soon as the current agreement with NO is up in 2010.

Maybe but thats still 3 1/2 more seasons to help the community out. I bet one of the new commisioners main goals is to keep the Saints in New Orleans. Benson is a complete dick though

Totally agree. It all comes down to cash though. If Benson can move this team to L.A., he definitely will.

They're sold out for the year so the NFL money is there. I don't think that a SNF or MNF provides the team with any increased funds. This is indeed a showcase to show conventions and revellers that NO is back in business. The NFL has provided money for the stadium renovation that was actually needed prior to Katrina.
Benson got a sort of new venue anyway...he'll stay now and not have to threaten to leave in order to get new digs.

Theisman spent the first quarter stating that Bush would have problems with the turf because he is a "short stepper". Now, Bush is lighting it up and Theisman says he is great because he is a "high stepper". WTF??

I'm saying they should get SNF and MNF for publicity revenues for the city, not NFL money. The more national attention they get, the more people will donate money to charities, rebuilding projects, etc. as long as they publicize where and who to donate money to. Agreed, Benson won't move the team if they sell out but you never know, LA is tough to turn down. I do see the NFL making it very very hard for them to leave NO

I just started screaming at the TV when he said that. He contradicts everything. How is Bush a high stepper? He's the shiftiest runner to come into the league since Barry Sanders. He keeps saying that the players need to keep their legs and feet under their body to keep control...... Really, what a weird theory

I disagree but my comments are off topic. I wish the best for NO and as for football.... it seems evident that Payton has helped in the rebuild process for the team.
