It's not easy for a position player accustomed to playing every day to become a successful pinch hitter.

Christian Walker, in his 7th at bat this season, ended the no hitter, the shutout and the Padres lead. And put himself as the lead run into scoring position. Good for him!

Glad he didn't get the no hitter, but have to feel bad for Ross as he pitched so well, and yet doesn't get the win.

And, regarding the almost no hitter, we have to remember that Pollock, Lamb, Souza and Owings are not available.

Happily, the D-backs have found ways to catch up or take leads late in games anyway.
