I'd like to start a new thread since the old one is too long.

The Arm Race is getting too hot! Dallas got Kidd, KT went to San Antonio, Denver is working hard on Artest, Houston and NO r also trying to do something to beat the deadline.

We all know what we need to complete the championship man! We r very thin at 2 and 3 especially in matter of defence. We can not count on Hill to play more than 35 minutes. Diaw is not good playing at SF. Strawberry is nice but still too young and too inexperienced.

We don't need an expensive starter such as Artest or Mike Miller, both around 9M. But a rarely used young one with less than 1M salary won't do us much good! We need a proven guy, who is definitely going to cost a few millions!

PLEASE SARVER! WE MUST SPEND SOME MONEY ON THIS ONE!

Pay attention to Pietrus of GSW, he started tonight against Boston, done an excellent job containing Pierce. He is about 3.5M, not too expensive!

Sarver paid two first round picks so the SPURS CAN HAVE KURT THOMAS. Think about that.

I'm truly sorry Phoenix. I have many friend that live there, but your owner is scewing you over. Thats not acceptable.

In a van...down by the river.
Ron Artest next to Nashy, Bell , Amare & Shaq with Hill, Barbs, Diaw, & Straw off the bench?
Sick.
Come on Sarver....The NBA.... "Where a few extra million for perimeter defense happens?"

It amazes me that a team that supposed to be the best running team in the NBA, has so few scoring guards. I don't know that we can solve that this year.

No kidding. The Shaq trade has shielded Saver temporarily, but the fact is that was financially a lateral move. Actually it will probably give the Suns owners a financial windfall due to merchandising, advertising, etc over the next couple of years. The fact that Shaq makes 20 million makes Saver look like he's making a huge financial commitment, but the facts speak otherwise.

In the meantime, in the past 2 years, our owner has given away FOUR first round picks, James Jones and Kurt Thomas and his expiring contract for ... NOTHING. He received 6 million in cash and luxury tax savings. Not a SINGLE player or future pick. NOTHING. :bang:

When I look at the lack of wing athleticism, depth, and point guard help, and think of all we could have acquired with assets GIVEN AWAY, it makes me want to throw up. After 30 years of watching this team, I can deal with bad trades and bad signings. I just can't deal with this team going into the playoffs with basically 7 guys because the owner of the most profitable team in the league sold away valuable assets to pad his bottom line. And now we’re looking at who … Quentin Ross? Why, because he makes $800,000 a year? Way to go all out Robert.

I love the Shaq trade, and he still could lead us to a championship. But it's sad to see what might have been had our owner been focused on the team on not his wallet.

I don't dream about Sarver to become generous all in a sudden. But we desperately need a veteran winger!

800k guys r joke! I'll swear a lot if it is what we got after all! :bang:

Among all the rumors, Pietrus is the most reasonable choice, comes with good quality and bargin price.

I would also suggest Charlie Bell, the Bucks might want to trade him for nothing and draft picks. But he comes with a long term contract.

Cassell is 6M, too expensive ...

How about Lowry or Navarro from Memphis?

I'm now irrationally fixated on either Pietrus ("Air France") or Artest ("Come here and say that to my face"), and will be sorely disappointed if the Suns acquire anybody else!

Also, Cassell is just a half-season rental. He's retiring after this. And if he doesn't want to play for Boston with his buddy KG, then he definitely doesn't want to play for Phoenix.

Just read a line from ESPN about Raja.

"Shaq knocked him into next week with a vicious though accidental elbow to the back of the head."

Any report about his hit? I don't think it's a serious injury which might sit him out for games.

Word is its going to be Quinton Ross for Alando Tucker and a 2nd.

Ross has a rep for being a very good defender at the 1 and 2 positions and some smaller 3's. He's very quick. He's not known as a scorer but seems to shoot well from the 3 in the few he takes. Sounds like he only takes wide open shots.

We could do worse. And we keep the Atl pick

In my sweetest dream, we trade ALT pick + TE for Mike Miller. He will play our starting SG ahead of Bell. I'm 100% sure we'll win championship, not only this year, but also next.

Bottom line, I'd be satisfied if we spend a little more money on Delonte West from the Sonics.

I don't like at all giving Tucker away for this Ross guy. Tucker has nice potential, and is not the worst defender himself. I say Suns should keep Tucker. Though, considering some of the previous moves by this front office, I agree that Suns could do worse,
Also this trade if it stay this way - doesn't solve 13th man problem. So that is Tucker and 2nd rounder for what - Q Ross and Linton Johnson ?!

it would be sweeter to get Lowry together with Miller. He is also on the block and on his way out. would be at least some reminiscence of backup point to Nash.
but I guess that's just dreamin'

It leaves the door open for them to get Barry if and when he's bought out by the Sonics.

The only game i watched Quinton Ross play is Heat at Clippers, that was early Dec.

He started in that game and was assigned to defend Wade. There wasn't much success as Wade scored 30 some and the Heat won. But I have to say Ross did give me some good impression about his defence, especially speed, he did make Wade sweat in most of possessions. He also hit a few open shots, maybe 3p, too.

I'll definitely be disappointed if Ross is the final piece of our main rotation ... But considering our thin bench, I would welcome this deal. We don't send him on Kobe or Ginobili or so, but he could probably help us preventing Vujacic to score 15 points on us again.

well - theoretically, the limit of players on an NBA team is 15 players. And right now we are talking about our 13th. Besides there always is Pike who we can cut ! ;) Also, I remember Kerr saying, that signing 13th player would not stop Suns to try to get Barry!

anyway - i don't even think there is much chance he gets bought out. And even if - there is still no guarantee that we will get him.

I dont understand the logic around here. You want another long-range bombing F who's never made an effort to play a lick of defense ? Offense wasnt your problem.........its never been a problem. What you need is a lockdown defender at the two spot/three spot. You guys continually adopt the mindset that you can score, score, score and score some more. "To hell with defense, lets get another shooter!!!!".

*shakes head

A-friggin-mazing.................

Bell is a streaky shooter to say the least. Barbosa could easily be starting on about 2/3rds of the teams in this league.
