It would be easy to say that Bell's efforts were focused on defense rather than offense--easy to say except Kobe cracking the 40-point mark is never considered "stopping" him. Um, nice job there Raja. :thumbdown

I don't think we have to worry about too many more 0 pt outings from Raja. Geez - talk about what have you done for me lately. He'll come around.

EVTRIB says Sarver is chasing Ross

http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/109495

Quentin Ross!
Quentin Ross!
Quentin Ross!

Heres a blurb about Ross from my main man Bill SImmons (LA Clippers Season Ticket Holder)

TRADE 4B: San Antonio trades Jacque Vaughn, a 2008 No. 1 and $2 million to the Clippers for Quinton Ross and Paul Davis.

Why L.A. does it: Because Q-Ross should never be stuck on a bad team. Ever. It defies everything that makes him valuable. As a public service to him and basketball fans everywhere, the Clippers need to trade him. Plus, did I mention the $2 million? Did you see that, Donald Sterling??? That's $2 million, cash!

Why San Antonio does it: I keep hearing that we shouldn't worry about San Antonio because the Spurs are going to turn it on after the break like they always do. Have you watched them? Horry looks washed up. Finley looks washed up. Most of all, Bowen isn't the same defensively anymore -- maybe you haven't noticed, but guys can beat him off the dribble now and he's relying on that tripping/clutching/pushing routine more than ever. I can't see the Spurs winning anything with three washed-up guys playing big minutes in the playoffs. They need to do something. And if that's not enough, this is the perfect place for Ross -- he can learn all of Bowen's tricks before he takes his job. I hope this one happens.

(Note: I apologize for including all these Clipper-related trades, but every time I go to one of their games, I leave thinking that they should be sponsored by the ESPN.com Trade Machine. Pretty much every guy on the team is a terrible fit except for Kaman. You have to believe me. Even the coach is a bad fit. Really, it's been a delightful season. So glad I renewed.)

By the way I would love Mikeal Peitrus as well:thumbup:

I think last night showed how close we are. And just how damn good LA is now too. Lets go Sarver!

Hmm, if my memory is correct, Raja did pretty well in playoff guarding Kobe for 2 consecutive seasons. Kobe was almost perfect today. He is usually on fire in this period of the season. His 81 was in late Jan 2006. Last year he did consecutive 50 in early March. I wouldn't blame Raja too much this time, but I certainly hope he does better in playoff.

It is actually a very good sign for us, that by now the Lakers r playing with full 120% effort, noticeably with Kobe's neary 46 minutes. Keep doing so they will run out of steam sooner or later. We'll see what they have left in tank when playoff begins.

No way the Spurs trade cash. Have they ever sent cash in a deal?

Ross is a VERY good defender. He is different from Artest in that he is quicker and not as versatile. Ross will defend the quicker point guards better than Artest, but does not have the strength to defend pf's. Artest is probably a better defender at the 2.

Ross is younger, cheaper, fairly young, more than a short term rental, and we would not have to give up the ATL pick to get him. He's likely a better locker room presence too.

I still like Artest. He is a much better offensive player, and a better overall defender. I would love to have Raja or Ron on Kobe every minute.
