Trade the ATL Pick to rent Artest? Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. I don't care if the pick becomes a middle first rounder, this team ain't getting any younger. If its for Mike Miller instead, I like it a little more.

If the Suns pick up a big time player before the trading deadline, I think it's official, Sarver has caught Championship fever.

Come on Mario Bennett! But seriously, I would be shocked if this pick up is anything more than a bench warmer to keep Pike and Marks company.

Count me among those who think trading the Atlanta pick is dumb even if it is between 15-20. There will be no way to add anything to this squad (no way Sarver allows the use of the MLE with his current payroll) until the summer of 2010 and even if Bob does come out of pocket only vets will be available. Every team needs fresh blood from the draft here and there even if it is just role players.

Everyone else has...If he is a true basketball fan, it's hard not to right now...If the Spurs hadn't just gotten KT (not really a HUGE threat but it adds to their team), I don't really see him doing anything cause he probably thought we would be fine. But now, he has a day to make something happen and now its all or nothing. I pray to God he gets gun happy and pulls off something big like this...

I got a text earlier this afternoon from a buddy who works media crew for the Suns. Now, he has a contact on the inside (not sure exactly where) but he was told by this contact that the Suns are after Artest for our Atlanta pick. This guy is the same guy who told me and my buddy about the Shaq trade days before it was public news. Not saying it's a definite thing by any means, but it certainly is from a very credible source. I would love this trade to happen, but not so sure it will since Denver seems to be in the running for Artest (and winning) as well.

im a little sketchy on the artest trade.. ive never really seen him play within an offense. i think id rather have salmons or miller over him.

It would be extra sweet if the Kings somehow could throw in a PG. I believe they have three.

Now is the time to shop that Atlanta pick. After the Hawks got de-pantsed last night, that pick is just looking better and better.

I think the Suns couldn't lose if the Kings would part with Salmons (providing he is agreeable) and he's cheaper than Artest... and a safer gamble.

Well they have less than 20 hours to unload it.

Maybe we could pull 2 seperate trades with Sac.

Atl Pick and TPE for Artest

TPE and maybe a future 2nd for Lue

That would give us a playoff caliber PG to back-up Nash as well as the tough Artest to back-up Hill.

MD is still only going to play 8 guys.

bingo. i can't see trading the pick, which could have HUGE upside, for a rental of artest. but for miller . . . maybe.

This has taken my attention away from the Shaq debut tonight.

I hope I'm not overly invested in the Suns doing something good in this period.

Oh I know, and as if that weren't enough, Jason Kid makes his Mavericks (re)debut in 20 minutes. :)

Am i the only one who would rather have Pietrus then Artest?

Same type of defender, more athletic, no need to worry about upsetting lockerroom or offensive chemistry, and he would cost less then Artest in trades and money.

Sarver is saying that they are trying to get a trade done for a defensive minded wing player (Artest), and will work through the night to get it done. If it gets done it will be announced tomorrow. If they cant get a deal done they will sign Linton Johnson.

Sarver! Now you're just toying with us!

That's a virtual name-drop for Artest, a former NBA Defensive Player of the Year.

edit: Then again, 11 years in more than just "a few."
