He is a Disney Historian now. However, the notes and manuscripts they came up with are available. She specifically made him note parts of the film she liked. I think Travers had some issues and never was solid one way or the other about how she felt. At the very least her opinion seemed to vary based on who she was talking to. Keep in mind they were also friends and nobody not even the estate denies anything he has said.

Finally saw this movie. My bride liked it a lot, but I found that Emma Thompson did such a great job at portraying Travers as an arrogant, uppity, bossy bitch that I couldn't make myself like her when she softened up at the end. Yes.... I understand she was a broken child from an alcoholic family and all, but I just couldn't get warm and fuzzy about her at the end.

The highlight of the film, IMHO, was when Hanks/Disney is in her apartment towards the end of the film talking about his own father and childhood. Man.... that guy can ACT. Extraordinary moment...

Traver's flashback moments to her childhood worked well, I thought. Good cast for that era in the film.

Anyway, 3.5 out of 5 stars for me. I expected something more (I'm not sure exactly what) but it was still a decent, quality film.

Wow, I got more than I bargained for with this thread.

I agree about Travers. I thought the highlights were the scenes with Novak and Schwartzman. Their characters were hilarious.
