My son turned 21 yesterday... So we took him to Steak 44 for a one-of-a-kind bday dinner tonight. We were seated in the bar area and standing 10 feet away from us, were Keim, Adrian Wilson, Mike Bidiwill and Steve Wilkes. They were then joined by a roughly 6-7 other people and were escorted into a private dinning room.

I'm sure it means nothing but an extremely nice dinner for Wilkes... right?
And @Dback Jon - I did not shake anyone's hand!!;)
Steak 44 is unreal for starters and yes, it's Cardinals social headquarters here in town.

Gotta say though - I have had the honor of being able to dine at some of the best steakhouses not only in America, but around the world... thx to my job. I would place Steak 44 in the Top 3 places I have ever been. The Bone-In Kansas City Strip, cooked medium rare-plus, could be the best steak I have ever eaten, anywhere! Just incredible!!
It really is, it's between there and SW in Vegas for me. If you loved the scene and food at Steak 44 then Prime 112 in South Beach is a must. Guaranteed professional athlete sightings there.

Kent Somers said Wilks is the fav on radio appearance with Jody Ohler this evening.

I would be happy with a Wilks hire, so I find this exciting to hear, but you never know. Everyone go to dinner that comes in ?

I like that A-Dub was there.

I also like the possibility that, as part of the process, the the braintrust would bring other staff-members along and later on ask them: "What did you think about that guy?"

so this tells us how todays round of interviews went. First guy in the morning... talk a couple hours, send him home.
next guy in the afternoon,...talk a few hours,...refresh at the hotel and meet later for steaks.

MB and SK always woo with steaks...I actually like that...limits the chance we get a vegan coach.

I think there is a lot to this. ( other than the vegan part)

Why does one guy get sandwiches brought in at lunch, and the other guy gets Steak 44?

I heard that Armstrong went out to dinner with the Cards Mgmt team on Thursday evening and interviewed on Friday.

Maybe Wilson could be part of his staff, maybe a LB coach? Maybe they were feeling each other out, seeing if he would be a good fit with Wilks.

Oh, I have no doubt Wilkes was "wow'd"!!!! The Cards clearly pulled out the big guns today/tonight! I just don't think they would devote that type of personal time from so many, and spend that kind of $$, if they weren't serious with Wilkes... But ya never know I guess... Maybe Keim, Bidwill, A-Dub and the rest just wanted a good steak.

I think they take every candidate there, it is the main place they take people there. I only even know what that restaurant is because of cardinals articles.

I love the idea of having Wilks bring in Flip with him to be the OC. The problem I have with it is the fact that we would most likely see another Bowles situation where the coordinator is hired by some other team in a year or two. Kinda makes me wanna just see them hire Flip.

its possible, yeah... likely in fact since the biggest knock on Flip is he doesnt have lots of experience at the coordinator level.
but if we bring in a rookie, and he helps make that rookie an NFL starter...we will be okay when he goes...
plus you never know, maybe we pump his pay, add the assistant head coach title,...and he decides to stay longer. Sometimes guys just like where they are.

I dunno.... then Armstrong as ST coordinator?
Why would Flores come to be our d coordinator when he likely replaces Patricia in NE?

And why would Armstrong make a lateral move?

Wilks has been my thought for a couple weeks now. Haley or DeFillipo at OC and I’m really amped.

But I’m also pro-Bettcher with his coordinators. I liked Shurmur but have given up on that. I don’t want anyone from New England, and Schwartz doesn’t do it for me.

in regards to flores.... NE apparently has some issues... if BB is sent into retirement, does any of the staff survive? It has to be a question for a guy lower on the totem pole.

with armstrong?? Hell, I have no idea...people were tossing out names, so I tossed out a name... and oh,...uuuhh,... he was recommended by BA......if that carries any weight with anybody... he is in atlanta isnt he?? Hell, I like Atlanta...I might not even move from ATL to PHX for the same job and my sons live there.

but, you know.... throw enough crap on the wall and sooner or later something will stick.
