If there's one thing I've noticed about the Suns and players they trade, it's that you can always see it coming if you listen to the Valley's media coverage. When the sportscasters begin bashing someone about their attitude or game, it's a dead giveaway that the Suns are looking to move that player.

In listening to the radio today, every station and announcer I heard was bashing Amare. His lack of rebounding, his attitude, his defense. It's like the suns sent out a memorandum that they need to change the fan bases perspective of Amare from being a Godsend to being a cancer.

Frankly, I'm with giving Amare all the support he needs. I've seen him work on his game and while his offense is still light years ahead of his defense, it's also light years ahead of almost every power forward out there. You don't trade someone like that away for little pieces for the future.

Amare is one of the guys you build a team around. He JUST turned 26 and has an incredibly bright future ahead of him.

Don't believe the sudden change of opinion about Amare. The guy just wants to win and he's determined to become the best player on the planet. You don't trade that away, but sadly he's on his way out because the front office would rather cater to Kerr and Porter's new and broken system instead of building the team and offense around Amare.

No, he's determined to be called the best player on the planet. World of difference. Someone determined to become the best player on the planet does not routinely let inferior players beat him for rebounds, when rebounding is supposed to be his second-most important job on the floor.

I don't care if they trade him as long as they get a good deal. Problem with that is Kerr can't make a good deal to save his life.

This whole situation is rapidly approaching the point of no return. Once the Suns entertain or propose one trade we'll be hearing the old "You disrespected me by shopping me" line and all the "I'll only resign with these teams" list and it'll be a circus in no time.

I personally think it would be stupid to trade Amare just to get rid of him. You don't trade a legit big man in the NBA unless your getting a legit big man in return. Look how long this franchise suffered between big men depsite a ton of draft picks and free agents. No thank you.

Having said that, unless things drastically change, I don't see Amare resigning with the Suns. I think he is the go to guy on this team and is still bitching about not being the go to guy? Maybe he should check shot attempts. Nobody is close to him.

I think Amare just wants to be the #1 option. I say give it to him to shut him up and resign him if you can. That doesn't mean you can't have secondary options like Shaq and Nash. It just means you will try Amare first.

this is ultimately the greatest reason why they should trade him if it ever came to that. if he's still bitching and moaning next summer/hasn't picked up his defensive game the rest of the season and hasn't signed an extension I think you have to trade him or fear losing him for nothing like Dice.

Maybe Amare just wants to get #1 attention. I had the thought that he's jealous of Shaq getting all the press and the SC highlights.

I thought the title of this thread was misleading. I thought Amare was traded or something.

So the suns get a new GM and a new coach, the quality of amares touches takes a hit, he's not getting the same quality of opportunities to produce. Then he starts to mumble about it. So its time to trade him? No, he's more important to the suns than the GM, a #1 pick givaway guy, and an inexperienced coach. You just dont find quality bigs like amare but once a decade, GM's and coaches are easier to replace. Im with amare, they need to accomodate him and get him the quality touches. Part of this has to do with taking the ball out of nashs hands, nash will find amare and get him the ball where he needs it. Star players are more important than coaches and GM's in the NBA, unless the coach is a truly outstanding coach and the player is a chemistry nutjob. Amare stoudemire is one of the top 6-7 4's or 5's in the NBA, and he's 26, I say keep him, try to build around him.

Also if the suns handle amare badly, no big time free agent will want to come to phoenix.

I will bet 1000 ASFN dollars that Amare will not be traded before the deadline.

Anyone care to take me up on that?

agreed. the big question will be if Sarver can admit his own mistake and pull the trigger on 86'ing Kerr's ******** and bringing in someone who actually has a clue of what to do as a GM? I view Sarver as a complete moron speaking from a strictly basketball standpoint, thus I believe the answer to that question will be: NO.

He's the one who put himself right on the sideline drawing attention to himself, shoved the guy who built his team (BC) out of the door, instigated the Shaq trade and now apparently is going down and having the team make collages together to unify the team. That sucks. He's Jerry freaking Jones without the wallet.

Amare's decline in touches is partially his own fault. He won't dive after a loose ball, passes bounce off his shoulder, or off his hands, and like someone else mentioned... he gives up a rebound to Peja Stojakovic?????? What was that all about? Made me a little angry.

I think he wants to be a legend, but he's not willing to sacrifice for it. However, he's still pretty good even if he doesn't put 100% into his game. Maybe Terry Porter can whip him into shape.

the team isn't going to win anything this year, so I wouldn't mind seeing Nash or Amare go as long as we get some good value back. I agree that you can't give up a legit nba big without either getting one back or getting a high enough pick to draft one. I can't think of any realistic trades where this would happen though

Amare's complaint was that he was not featured in any kind of offensive set on the Suns. In a time when LB, Diaw, Bell and even Hill all just making futile moves and passes and TO-destined drives, it'd be easier to work on sets to give Amare the ball in position. They don'e have that.

Sorry Amare is not a legit big man, he is a good scoring PF that can't play defense. I would trade Amare in a second if the right deal was on the table. I think he has reached his ceiling and 7 years in you can't play a lick of defense I don't see it getting much better, not to mention we don't know how long his knees are even going to last. I would trade him straight up for Al Jefferson at this point, not that Minnesota would even consider that.

Yesterday on Doug and Wolf Jon Barry said the Suns should trade Amare. Gambo and Ash had Tim Legler on yesterday and he said they shouldn't trade Amare.

Sorry but he is a legit big man. He might not play defense or rebound on a consistant basis but I could make a laundry list of forwards that have been on this roster that cannot sniff his jock. So, call him a one dimensional legit big man if you want.

Amare would have good trade value on the open market or in free agency. I don't see that happening for someone who is not considered legit.

Oh well I consider a legit big man someone that can play DEFENSE, REBOUND, and score. The league is full of clowns that can score Amare is looking less and less special as time goes on. He is now at the point of taking tons of shots (missing lots of them) and getting a ton of his points from the line. Sorry its not entertaining to watch Amare try to go one on four towards the basket and either get stripped or throw up a terrible shot. And forget about a nearly 7 foot guy that doesn't rebound or even comprehend defense. Just fed up with big mouths act at this point.

How about trading him to TOR for Chris Bosh. Bosh is cut in the same mold as Amare but much better defensively. BC would probably do it as it was him that brought in Amare when everyone was praying for Jared Jeffries, especially me.

Your talking about an all around player. This league is full of stars who have limitations in parts of their game. I could make a laundry list of players who standout because of one thing they do well. You could argue should those people be considered legit but that's another argument.

Again, if Amare was a free agent people would be lining up to sign him right now like it or not.
