Many draft prospects are scheme-specific per the draft pundits. Can the experts help me out as this relates to the Cardinals with the current coaching staff?

Defense - Pure 3-4 or hybrid 3-4/4-3

Oline - Zone, Power, other?

Coverage - Zone, Man, Cover 4

I don’t live in Arizona anymore so couldn’t watch many of their games last year, so appreciate the insight.

Last year our base in fun downs was a 3-4; but in neutral situations we played 3-3-5

We were more of a man blocking scheme than zone.

Played a lot of zone on the defensive back end.

I think a lot of the defensive stuff may not carry over because we were so crappy last year.

Thanks, if we’re a 3-4 again, a guy like Newton doesn’t make sense at #27.

Newton or Murphy would both fit in to our hybrid nickel base defense...4-2/3-3 pending on field personnel.... A penetrating DT is imperative to the schemes overall success...
The big question with Johnny Newton is whether or not his physicality will continue to improve...because if not , his game won't transfer to the NFL.
