Was thinking the same thing. We must be running this play to set up the reverse. Maybe the reverse is coming next week!

On a couple of them Palmer and Brown nearly ran into each other I don't know if that's part of the setup or if they were just not on the same page but if he'd had the ball on either of those it would been interesting.

Agree on all, especially Arians. The play calling on the first couple drives was.... Bizarre.

there were no commuting issues. That was the least traffic I have EVER seen on i-10 on a work day. we left tempe at 5 and got to the stadium at 530.

That's because no one in the west valley went to work yesterday. It was lighter traffic than subways, we were on 10 about an hour after it reopened. It was amazing.

Yeah, figured it was due to the amount of people who didnt go to work.

However I was surrounded by westsiders at work yesterday. Where there is a will there is a way.

And yet Palmer ended the night with 304 yards and 2 TDs, completing 64.9% of his passes at a clip of 8.2 YPA. Plus he gained and additional 29 yards on scrambles.

It wasn't pretty, particularly through the first half. But Palmer got the job done, and as a Palmer skeptic, he deserves a game ball.

Hit the nail on the head. Palmer was doing everything in his power to win the football game. It's not characteristic for him to scramble, and he did so pretty well for an old slow like. Not Steve Bono slow, but slow enough.

That miscue on the deep pass early to John Brown was huge. Palmer hits on that and the game probably isn't ever close.

This exactly.

I have a hero and I will mention him because the dirty work he does seldom gets notice. I nominate Big Dan Williams for still making it hell running in between the tackles and clogging everything up. He is a stud NT in the 3-4 and a huge reason why teams cannot run on us... and Tommy Kelly gets some props for being solid on short notice, this defense might not be a top ten but they played like a top five last night :)

Dan Williams is our run defense. He makes so many underappreciated plays it's not even funny. Most of the time he's soaking up double teams and still pushing his man back.

Does anyone remember when we drafted him that he something like 60 tackles his senior year, which is a pretty high number for a college DT. Monte Kiffin said he played really hard all the time, and early on in Dumpster Dan's career, this didn't appear to be the case.

Last season the light turned on, and Dan Williams is turning into one of those "sign at all costs" type of players. He would be really hard to replace.

I think Deone Buccanon had a great game on defense. He jumped out at me. Does anyone else think he looks about as big as DWash looked as rookie? His special teams play was egregious, but Butler seemed to take too long to get the kick off as well.

The TD to Taylor I was yelling at him the whole time but in the end it was a brilliant play by Palmer. Taylor was open the entire play first in the flat and then in the endzone but he wasn't a "sure thing" so Palmer kept looking left either hoping someone opened up, or looking off the defense. Eventually Taylor found a perfect hole where Palmer could zing it and he did. Palmer was so patient there he moved the defense opening up Taylor even more. Veteran play and VERY calm.

Not to mention the pump fake that made the linebacker flinch and then freeze.
You could see in his reaction that he knew he'd been had. Classic!

Larry Foote is a god send after the disaster we've had at the ILB position. Dare I say he looked better defending the run than either DWash or Dansby.

Foote was a Beast! Damn hes supposed to be washed up, he looked very solid and was in on every play, Rewatch that game foote was everywhere!

Wasn't that Manti Te'o? I hear it isn't that hard to fake him out like that.

That was a good football team we beat. Telesco is doing good work there.

That front 7 of the Chargers is nasty. Last year we was up 11 and lost

the opener. This year we was down 11 and won. Great win for the Cards

Pretty weird to not see Foote at the top of any hero of the game post.
