have now lost two in a row on bonehead coaching decisions. Pete Caroll's ego has now cost his team victories. Why would you call for an onside kick to start overtime with the defense they have/

I'll tell you why. Pete's team got schooled on the fake punts last year so old Pistol Pete was going to try and look like a genius.

Thanks Pete! For now, the footsteps you hear are in front of you!.

Caroll claimed he called a squibb kick & the kicker got confused.

Or that's just what that asshat says after his call doesn't work.

Dunno if the kicker is taking the wrap, but both he and Carroll said it was not supposed to be an inside kick but rather a directional kick down the field that was botched

34-31 game for two teams predicated on elite defense and marginal offense. Something's gotta give.

What is the overtime rule if the Seahawks had recovered the onside kick and got a field goal? Would the game have been over or would the Rams have a chance to get the ball?

I dont think it is a terrible call going for the onside if your team wins with a field goal. If not, I think that is an awful idea going for an onside there.

You would probably win the game on the FG because it is like a turnover. However, if your team is totally over matched I can see it. But they are regularly touted as the best defense in the league. If Chancellor means that much to them well lets drop "The Best" title.

After thinking it through, I don't hate the call, they had the ball back and had a chance to at least tie the game. I am thinking a lot of teams are going to have trouble running against that St Louis defensive line, especially running out of the shotgun formation. That onside call didn't go their way but I don't think they lost because of it.

Okay, we'll agree to disagree.

The onside kick basically put St. Louis in FG range and they won the game w a FG so idk about that especially if your forte is defense. Kick it deep n let ur d make a play n maybe get another punt return for a td or maybe they force a turnover n get the ball deep.
