I've read reports that he might get released too.

Someone please tell me how Skelton is better than Jackson, please. I'm not trying to pick a fight here, so I want someone's real answer.

Because Skelton's been inculcated in the offense for three years now, and if we traded for Jackson today, he'd have about five weeks to get it down. Jackson as mediocre as he was last year was working within the same offense and with the same offensive coordinator for (I think) his entire career.

I also think that if the Cards had showed the commitment to running the ball that the Seahawks showed last season, Skelton would've looked as good as Jackson.

I would like to see the Cardinals ignore Skelton's draft position and do this, start the guy, respect he is young, and see what a whole season will do for him. If he stinks and shows no hope...cool, we just got in a good draft position to potentially fix it :)

Easy for someone in San Antonio to say. As a fan who's subject to blackouts if this team ends up 5-11, I'd prefer to see the team do whatever it takes to win football games.

It just so happens that I also think that Skelton is going to help us win games.

I live in chandler and I say go for it. Skelton either emerges or we land a top QB prospect. For it.

On a related note, didnt the NFL relax some of their lockout policies this year? I know they didnt entirely get rid of them.

Its a really stupid policy. When I really started following sports as a kid in the late 80s/early 90s I was all about the Suns. I followed Dodger baseball because we got them on TV a lot and my dad was a Dodger fan (but we all switched the Dbacks during their opening season)... and the NFL... even though I loved the sport, and I somewhat followed the Cards, I was by no means a die hard fan of the local boys, and it was entirely because of how rarely their games were televised. It was easier to follow the local college teams than it was our pro one.

How they expect to grow fan bases in cities like Jacksonville when no one cant watch the games is idiotic.

fwiw there is some talk about the eagles being involved with Jackson which would make perfect sense ... they just don't want to pay his $4M contract this year
Presents an intriguing question: Would you rather have all your QB's play one style (like Vick and Tr Jackson)? Or would you rather have different QB's on your final roster represent different types of arrows in the offensive quiver?

Fair enough on the comparison. I really see us as having the WORST starting QB in the entire NFL. Blaine Gabbert might be worse, but i like his potential more than anyone on our team.

Maybe I'm wrong about our QB's, and I hope I am.

I've always said it doesn't make sense to have a running QB as a back-up to a pocket passer (or vice-versa). It may be great in the short-term if he has to fill in for a game or a few quarters here and there, but if your starter goes down for any length of time the offense will either need to be fairly dramatically changed or it probably won't be hitting on all cylinders.

JMHO

With the new rules allowing a QB3 to be active without penalty, I do like the idea of carrying a QB1 and QB2 that have similar skill sets complemented by a double-threat QB as another option.

Not to beat a dead horse:

According to CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora, Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson would be willing to "alter" his $4 million salary to facilitate a trade.

The Seahawks are hoping for a fifth-round pick that upgrades to a fourth-rounder based on performance, but realize they may have to settle for less. It's clear Jackson wants out of Seattle for a better opportunity. The two likeliest candidates may be Green Bay and Philadelphia, both using West Coast offenses. Seattle GM John Schneider was formerly Packers GM Ted Thompson's right-hand man.
