I honestly don't get it. If Marks couldn't beat out Burke, a player D'Antoni did not seem lot like, why would they want Marks back?
I remember researching hm when they signed him a year ago and it was hard to make a case for doing it. About all I could find was that he played moderately well during stretche when Duncan was injured, but it was not long and it wasn't dramatic.
His career numbers are tiny. He has played in only 108 games since 1998, averaged 3.1 ppg on 41.8% shooting and 2.0 rpg (0.21 per minute). With the Suns he played in only 3 games for a grand total of 17 minutes FOR THE SEASON.
What am I missing? He's going to be 32 years old in Aug, so it's not like he's a project we can expect to get better. Yet the fact that both papers mention it suggests the Suns are serious.
There are indications veteran center Sean Marks could return

The Suns may be done in free agency except for re-signing Sean Marks and using the 13th roster spot for a player such as second-round pick D.J. Strawberry or summer league pickup Pape Sow.
Free-agent big men like Chris Mihm or P.J. Brown could be pursued if the Suns were to trade Kurt Thomas, who will make $8.1 million this season.
