Sean Payton will be a free agent after this year

Within the past year, the multiyear contract extension the Saints announced for Sean Payton in September 2011 was voided by the NFL, making the suspended head coach a free agent after this season and casting questions on how long he will remain in New Orleans, according to league sources.

Payton is expected to become the NFL's most sought-after head coach after this season and there already is speculation in league circles that he could wind up returning to Dallas, where he worked as the assistant head coach from 2003 to 2005, during which time the Dallas Cowboys brought in quarterback Tony Romo, who attended the same college, Eastern Illinois, as Payton.

I don't think he leaves Brees. Those 2 have a great relationship and I expect Payton to coach Brees until retirement

Time for Mikey to get the family jet fired up and start wining and dining Sean Payton in style. He needs to do something to beat Jerry Jones to the punch. Time for the family to spend copious amounts of time and loot to convince him that Az. is the place to be for the Payton family.

Well put Shane. Truer words were never spoken. He can only coach what he has and if he does not select the players in FA and draft then he is just another coach with marginal players. One recent coach who returned to the NFL said he would never again come to a team that did not have an NFL ready QB.

absolutely, positively no point in talking about coaching until a change at GM is made

Bet the house he's staying in NEw O

Shoot double Down . There is NO way he's leaving

He has become the hero of N.O. since Katrina and his success with the Saints. He is likely to play out his career there. I just do not see him leaving the Katrina ravaged N.O. He would be the most hated guy in the NFL by the N.O. fans.

They made a mistake by sending Reggie Bush on his way IMHO.
