The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
It is in our FF league JG. I am 0 - 2.
It's not over until we say it's over! Was it over when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor??
I thought the same thing? That made no sense.
When did the Germans bomb Pearl Harbor?
Nevermind, I'm clearly missing a reference lol. Haven't seen animal house in decades, my bad.

Exactly, Belushi was right on.It's not over until we say it's over! Was it over when the German's bombed Pearl Harbor??
A nerve is really questionable regarding ever healing. He could irritate it every time he plays, or it could heal and he never have another incident. I have had several nerve issues in my life. One was in my shoulder and there was nothing they could do about it, even though different doctors tried. I had to give up tennis because if I tried to play, the next day I couldn't lift a piece of chalk to write on a blackboard when teaching. I now have nerve pain down my legs from my back. A shot of cortisone helps for 4-6 weeks usually, but surgery is the only chance I have to make it better, and that isn't guaranteed.
Let's hope Palmer career isn't over. I would give it a 50/50 chance. When is the next draft?
Its hard because we were picked to be a force this year and its all over due to injuries. Uuuugh
When is the next draft?
Next May.
See you then, we will tell you how the season went.
Thank you for offering a little bit of realism to people like 'Desertdawg". I for one do not believe the hype of Drew Stanton taking us to the super bowl, im just not that dumb. Sometimes the truth just, well...hurts.
Your fandom is weak.
What in the heck is "fandom" ?
Who stated that (in bold above), and where ?
That is quite all or nothing thinking that anyone who doesn't agree with you 100% is then expecting this team to go to the Super Bowl.
I don't think the team was going to the Super Bowl even if Washington doesn't get suspended, and the team doesn't have any injuries. Tough division, tough schedule, and it is extremely hard to make it to the Super Bowl.
Yet, I will, and would watch the whole season. Like I do every season. Season isn't over till the end of December at the earliest. Same as every year.
If you are just watching for Super Bowls, then most seasons you are going to watch, on any team, is going to be over before it starts.
To each his own.
What in the heck is "fandom" ?
Also, how can it be weak ? Is there a test at the end of the year that I don't know about.
Guy has a negative view of the team but he is spending his free time talking about the team.
Fandom (I think I should have trademarked it many years ago) IMO is your level of team spirit and dedication towards said team or identity.
Gotcha.
Its a business, you put a penny towards the business, then you are as rooted as the rest. But, that is just me.
I guess there are "levels" of fandom, but questioning one who spend his free time on a board for the team is kinda of silly if you ask me.....but what do I know.
I fully expected a team with Washington, dock, and CP healthy to compete for the SB.
Youre right I have indeed been very disappointed because I DO expect a championship every year. Do you not? What exactly do you want the cardinals to accomplish if it is not at least a super bowl berth?

I choose to be a little more positive. Green Bay won the Super Bowl a few years back with about 20 guys injured. Maybe Carson won't return, but there is really no compelling evidence that is the case. Nobody wins in this league with their starting 22. Nobody.

That's cool. I didn't think they had much of a chance. When talking Super Bowl aspirations you have to be one of the best teams in the league, AND be able to beat the other best teams in the league.
Not sure the Cardinals could beat the Broncos, which we will find out in 3 weeks. ......actually we won't because we are not 100%, but even at 100% I would not see that happening.
Heck, I was questioning whether the Cardinals would make the wildcard since I still think the Niners, and the Seahawks are a little bit better.
But I watch the games cause you never know. Maybe we beat those teams.
This is a business. Thus I expect a competitive team that gives me a competitive and entertaining football team to watch. That is it.
If I get that out of the season then it is money well spent.
Everything else is icing on the cake. I don't go into the season expecting a team to compete for a Super Bowl every year cause then I feel you are constantly setting yourself up for disappointment. I am paying money to be entertained, and to enjoy the experience. If it was not enjoyable to watch football then why waste the money and time ? But, that is just me.
And yes, even when the team loses, it can be fun to watch because it is a competitive event. They win some, and they lose some.
But when it is not fun, like the Jets game two years ago, then that is when things are at the point of being "over", I guess.
Thus what I want the Cardinals to accomplish is to be a competitive NFL football team the vast majority of the time.
But it is understood where you are coming from. I have no problems with high expectations, that's cool.
