I got a call yesterday from the ticket office to see if I wanted to get on the season ticket waiting list for extra tickets. They said the renewals are coming out in a week.

I've been called twice ... once because I bought tickets off the ticket exchange site and yesterday to make sure my account is being handled well by the office.

I got messages both times, so I didn't talk to anyone directly.

I was called on Tuesday. I told him that I wasn't paying until an agreement is reached. He "assured" me that it wouldn't be long. I laughed and told him I'll believe it when I see it. He said "At least you're talking to me. A lot of people are just hanging up."

1000th POST!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo, it only took me 7 years to get here.

One person I know working at the ticketing for the Cards said, "Season Ticket holders are leaving us big time. The Cardinals are seriously nervous about how bad it is."
This is why they are trying the phone calls over and over again.

A - they know a large portion of the fan base isn't renewing (economy, bad season, no QB main reasons)

B- No Contract with the NFL now means you could have money just sitting in the Cards bank account....no thanks

C- The economy is horrible right now....the amount of people that had jobs and are now without is sickening. Friends that had solid incomes are now selling their homes and looking to apartments...and low end jobs.
-They couldn't go to the games now if they were free...because of food/drink costs.

Cards are throwing up the 'hail mary'

My big thing is that I am a huge fan and have seen every single game since moving to AZ either in person or on TV. The main reason I had season tickets is because of the blackout.

Now that you can get the games over the internet, it isn't as pressing to have to have season tickets. As long as I can see the games and go to them when I want, it isn't like there is a shortage of tickets on the open market.

I couldn't make three games this past season and I couldn't sell my tickets for anything and they are good seats at $98 bucks a ticket. I ended up having to give them away all three games so they wouldn't go to waste.

That plus the pre-season games I would have saved $1000 last season which isn't chump change.

I joined the Big Red Service Team this past week. We are working with season ticket holders everyday. I have found after talking with about 100 season ticket holders that everyone had expected to have season tickets this year! THey aren't dropping like flys. Many people want to be moved or get more tickets.

Most are worried about the CBA and know one really knows how close we are. But they all want to see the games. It's one thing to be there and a whole other thing to watch the team on TV. Now if some are you are right then there will be black outs and you will not see home games on TV. Just reruns of 2 1/2 men.

The season will come and games will be played. Our team will get players through the draft and some from free agency. The QB situation will be fixed. I did hear that statements are going out Friday. I also heard that Fans will be PLEASED about the prices. No numbers were spoken about.

Being with other season ticket holders calling fellow saeson holders is so far a lot of fun. You can talk Cardinals all day long. I've met many nice people and the folks who are running the operation are top class and very committed.

No one can argue that...it's all about money. The Cardinals goal is to make money...

I had extra seats that I sold or gave away...last year it was so bad that regular season games I COULDN'T give away....lower deck nice area....people would rather stay at home and watch Bass fishing....ugh.

No more...I've dropped ALL of my extra seats and from our large group of tailgaters only 3 of us are returning. Last count that was a loss of 25 in just our group alone...and they are long time fans. My dads neighbors family jumped in last year thinking it'd be fun...they're out. I'll bet 95% of people that signed up last year to jump on are now leaving.

They say the phones at Cardinals HQ are quiet....I tested it and called....5 seconds later I had a person on....they've got no business.

I just got off the phone with my rep. He said that tickets would be mailed "at the end of the week". Given that today is Thursday, I assume he meant the end of next week.

Still struggling to decide if I want to renew. I am in the middle of purshasing a home and my wife may kill me if I add this expense right now.

Good timing, Cards!

Just got called. Kept asking me "You're sure you don't have any questions?" Uh, for the 12th time - "No. I just hope there's a season."

Tickets are being mailed and there's a FAQ included for the CBA issues and what happens if there's no season/shortened season.

All that tells me is "We don't plan on bringing in anyone good via FA...so there's no need to raise prices."

Really? I think it tells me that the Cardinals are banking on the regular season ticket holders to renew their tickets and the tickets in the upper level that usually remain to be sold near game time, will now be cheaper and help sales towards a sellout.

The NFL Blackout rule is a horrible rule. I understand the idea (that if you can't see the game on TV, you are supposed to go and buy a ticket to the game and sell it out). But, once games are blacked out locally, I can't see any benefit to it. It certianly doesn't build a fan base. Fans who probably wouldn't go to the game anyways can't watch the team on TV.

On the subject of the early renewal trip giveaways, does anybody actually know anyone who won these trips? Last year they said there were going to be doing several drawing/giveaways. I did not hear about any of the winners. I always wonder if this "giveaways" are real or just blowing smoke?

good question
I always pay the full amount by the 1st deadline coz of that superbowl tix drawing
but as you said, they should let us know who won them

I dont think I will be renewing. This economy has shown me there is better things to do with my money, than watch a team with ownership I dont believe does EVERYTHING it can to win championships.

I will always be a fan. I might go to some games here and there. But I feel we get ripped off in preseason. And we get ripped off with the quality of product on the field 90% of the time.

I'm dropping one of my two tickets. Think I'll use the money to get season tix for the local AAA baseball team.

Can't afford to fly out to the games anymore. Cost has doubled in the last couple of years. While business has singled.

Fan revolt.?? I hope so

Why should we pay for the season tickets after they announced there is no agreement reached. Just to keep the cardinals cash-flow going?

It seems like hitting on a widow at her husbands funeral...

So, the question I really want to see is if the cardinals or any other team changes their demands or anything else if fans don't renew....

Anyone else feel this way? Sure I'm glad ticket prices stayed the same but then if there is no season I have no way of getting my money back at all? Seems backwards to me....
