the majority of season ticket holders do reside on the eastside
What is your point to begin with, I didnt even bring that up as an issue. But considering west of Phoenix is the fastest growing area in the state that wont be the case any time soon.
I'm a fan and I still have my prop 302 sign and handed out flyers, did you?
Not exactly sure what that proves so what ever. Being a pack rat makes you better for some reason I guess?
After Phoenix sabotaged the Tempe site, there was little that could be done. The voters in mesa are the the only Eastsiders who can be called stupid as they turned down the opportunity to get the stadium in their backyard. Tempe was the first city to step up, and beat out every other site fairly. You mention we could have done more to get the stadium built here, and what exactly could us fans over here have done?
I guess you never heard of grass roots efforts. There wasnt a single group of people that fought for it near as much as that one single lady did in Mesa. If you dont think you or anyone else can do anything in the political process then you have already lost. It is like the people who dont vote because they dont think there vote counts.
Not only did fans of Glendale do nothing to get the stadium, when the council voted behind closed doors, your biggest developer sued.
Fans did nothing? They voted for the future thinking and growth idealistic politicians that were behind those closed doors and didnt try sueing the city to get it put on a ballot instead of that closed door meetings. We voted for those Politians specifically for the ideals that they hold dear that made it possible. Also want to note that it was the Developer that sued, not the residence of Glendale. They let the process happen not fight it.
The crack about limited resources is funny as the wealth base has long been in the east valley.
How exactly was that a crack? It wasnt a slam in anyway shape or form. It is a reality for where ever you are from, East, West, North, South, Mars, it doesnt matter. If you are so strapped for cash that you cant spend an extra $120 a year at worst then why are you buying football tickets in the first place? If you cant come up with $120 more dollars a year then you have bigger problems then a football game. Would have said the same for the west siders if the stadium was down at Apache Junction.
Now on to your incorrect perception that is not reality or supported by facts that the wealth base has long been in the East Valley. That may have been true 10 years ago but is no longer the case since the housing boom in the early 2000's. Here are the latest Median Income reports per city.
Prominent East side towns
tempe $46,159
mesa $48,106
scottsdale $65,262
gilbert $80,457
chandler $66,400
Prominent West side towns
glendale $49,189
peoria $61,489
surprise $55,571
avondale $59,102
goodyear $66,919
Litchfield park $77,799

Being in the residential houseing industry I can say for a fact that the only city in the area that is noticable much more well off then any other and that is Paradise Valley (Double the income of the next highest median income). Every where else and its pretty even and the numbers show as such. Trust me, the wealth of this state is very much so spread out and pretty even and is no longer located in one part or another anymore.
I don't know why westside fans are always trying to bash the eastside.
Not sure how you got that from my post, when that was not what I wrote or my intention what so ever. I went to ASU and lived there and liked it so much that I lived there another 5 years after graduating, I have no reason to bash the East side.
