Someone can correct me if I am wrong but I believe this is the first time this year that the Cardinals haven't been favored. When is the last time the Cards have been favored in 8 straight games?

That is pretty crazy.

Cards get no respect: time to earn it!

They should absolutely be favored. It's still Seattle in Seattle.

I'm not even calling this game a must win. It's a must win for Seattle. We need to win, forsure, but the season isn't over if we dont. Seattle is still tough in their house.

I will be thrilled if we win but if we dont I'm going to skip the ASFN overreaction and just stay off the board. This is NOT a must win for the Cardinals.

Seattle at home should be favored but I'd say it's even. aZ has beaten them there and is the better team this year.

Home field is the only thing Seattle has going for them, and yes it's substantial.

But their offense is really weak and they've given up the 4th quarter in all of their losses. Their defense isn't what it was. And their offense just sucks.

I am worried however about Jimmy Graham. Hasn't had a great year, but this game against us has the stench of turning that around.

Be more worried about Luke Wilson. This game comes down to tackling, cards need to play fundamentally sound by holding their lanes and form tackling. No glory hits or high tackles.

Disagree, this is a must win for this team: you have to put Seattle to bed.

Agree with this. Mind their fundamentals. You're also right about Luke Wilson, he's having a good year.

Dude.... We are going in to Seattle after a bye. Vegas has this line right. I will be surprised and delighted if we win this game.

Seattle has shown that they are slow starters and that they close the season strong.

So the season is over if we lose?

Division game against the back to back nfc champs who are absolutely desperate for a win to stay alive, PLUS we get another shot at them at home.

Important? Yes. But We don't have to seal up the division in November. It's not a must win. We will still be in first place if we lose.

I wouldn't call it must win today, but if the team slides and misses the playoffs, I guarantee we will look back at this game as one the team needed to win.

The Seahawks are beatable. They have tons of warts and are barely beating almost everyone they play.

Russell Wilson is a good QB who misses many open receivers down the field. Make him beat you with his arm. Coral the run game and don't let Wilson kill you with his legs.

Don't turn the ball over and grind it out on the Seahawks. Challenge them deep with John Brown/JJ Nelson.

Don't make massive mistakes on special teams. The Cardinals can and should (but likely won't) win this game.

I agree, but consider this:

This is the healthiest they have been all year.
They are coming off a bye and will be as well rested as us.
They are DESPERATE, Seattles season is essentially over with this loss. They will be 3 games behind us with 7 games left. They would pretty much have to win out and pray that we lose a few games in order for them to win the divison and most likely make the playoffs.

The Seattle crowd is going to bring it like always, but with this being Sunday night, and a lot of experts already crowning us, and Seattles season basically on the line... Man.

I dont disagree with you guys, it would be huge if we win, but honestly, Seattle is going to give us their absolute best shot. It will be a playoff atmosphere in that stadium and all I'm saying is I'm just not going to freak out if the Cards dont win this game. Now if we get blown out, that will be major cause for concern but if we lose a close one to a desperate Seahawks team in their house, I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

I ain't gonna be happy if we lose on Sunday. At some point, this team has to start beating ANYONE with a pulse.

The Hawks are desperate. I can't imagine anything less than 150% for the 2 time defending NFC champs on their home turf under the lights. If we win..... It will be an upset IMO.

So am I the only one going to this game? Airline ticket last minute was only $320, but I also had a free place to stay with my buddy who is a hags fan. He was decent enough to to get me a ticket to the game at face value at the beginning of the season though.

the only reason I could see them favored is at home, but seattle only getting 3 shows what vegas thinks about AZ. they like them and honestly I've seen seattle this year and they do not look anything like the team I saw last year.

I think we have the ability to win. We have a great defense that has only allowed 34.7% completion rate beyond 10 yards and are 3rd in the league for blitz frequency. AND Russell Wilson's completion percentage drops from 73.2% to 57.7% when he is under pressure! Heres a cool look at our passing defense map:

Nice find! Overall, impressive D, but are there some areas of concern?

...dave

Aha... not as much concern after looking at the Seahawks' chart!

More interesting analytics from this site, which i had never heard of before now:

Russell Wilson's Launch Point Map

Carson Palmer's Passing Map

Where Palmer’s approach has really paid off is in the intermediate range (11-20 yards). You can see on this map that he’s attempting more passes to that depth than the average quarterback, his completion percentage is 20% higher than the average quarterback’s, he’s thrown for 350 more yards on Intermediate passes than the average quarterback, and he’s thrown 10 touchdowns with only one interception to that part of the field. Amazingly, his league-best QBR on intermediate throws (144.3) dwarfs the league average (99.3).
