@JayGlazer The Seahawks and Vikings have agreed to a trade that send Harvin to Seattle for draft picks, pending Harvin passing a physical

Well, our division opponents got stronger. How much stronger is up for debate, but stronger none-the-less.

NFLN's Albert Breer tweeted:

Harvin's a heck of talent. But he's also grown a reputation as moody and unpredictable. Payoff could be huge. Risk is considerable too.

rumor is it would involve a 1st

really don't like giving a 1st rounder and paying for this guy

looks to be a receiving core with a lot of money and some problems in them

i'll admit my bias as I've always though Harvin was kind of a punk - going all the way back to HS

he's also a guy who always seems to not quite live up to his athleticism

there are injury and attitude concerns

however, the guy is competative and dynamic in what he can do

I'm just not sure the seahawks can commit the ball to him enough to make it worth while - with the vikings he was involved as a RB and moved all around the field, many quick hiting plays, safety valve type stuff ........ that just isn't what the seahawks really do

maybe there is some great scheme and we'll be in awe next year ... i'm definitely keeping an open mind, but i'm skeptical here

Wow, this is interesting.

That's a lot to give up for him, mainly because of his health issues. But, it will surprise people to know that before last year's major ankle injury, Harvin had only ever missed two games, which is surprising with his migraine problem. This gives Russell Wilson two major targets, and zero excuses, if you will. He's got to keep up his production and improve upon the previous year, even though he started to look great.

I hope it flops miserably. Unfortunately, Harvin was one of my favorite players to watch.

dang...he's one heck of a player when he's on.

trade was for Seattle's 1st pick #25, their 7th round pick (who cares) and a mid round pick 4 or 5 for next year.

That's a big deal for Seattle seeing Percey is in his final year of his deal and expecting a huge contract.

I don't like giving up a 1st round and huge money for a guy in the same breath....too much risk for me.

Add to it his migraine issues

Harvin is a player no doubt, but he's not the single piece the Seahawks need.

Keep in mind that Seattle's pick is toward the end of the 1st round. To get one of the elite WRs in the game when healthy (Remember, he was getting MVP buzz mid-year) at that price is pretty solid.

Harvin working with Russell Wilson could be a perfect match. Great gamble by the Seahawks.

Harvin always has his way with the Cards too. PP should have some battles with this dude. Im excited to see that. They are both big and physical. PP is definitley going to have his work cut out for him between Crabtree and Harvin. Both physical.

They did give up a lot which makes me feel better. Cards need a big move now, maybe Geno?

The money you guys are spending on Harvin (if he resigns) and Sydney Rice....:thud:
if it makes you feel better...I kinda wanted the 49ers to trade for him but only for a second round pick.

Harvin is right around 180 lbs and not 6' tall...his game isn't being big or physical it is being fast and dynamic with the ball in his hands.

It isn't as big a deal when you consider that the Seahawks have Wilson under contract for three more years for less than $1M a season--substantially less.

By the time Wilson's due for a contract upgrade (and they can't upgrade his contract for at least two more years), Syd Rice will be off the books.

I'm not a neurologist, but playing 8 games at the noisiest stadium in the Nation has to have a negative impact on his migraine issues.

This could either be really good or really bad for Seattle.

Great move by Seattle. Getting a guy of Harvin's talent for a late 1st and a meaningless 7th is stealing. He's probably the #1 playmaker in the NFL. Seattle won't run him into the ground like Minny did and he's going to be a pain for the Cards for years on in.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, until he injured an ankle, the guy was the focal point of an offense that only included the reigning league MVP.

Unbelievable! We just keep getting further behind our competition. Great players make great plays. Who are our great players? Sure L.F. you say. A great WR who never sees the ball thrown to him. I am bummed out right now. If you want a championship team, you have to go out and pay for those kind of players, and keep getting them until you accomplish your goal. We seem to be playing checkers and everyone else is playing chess.

They also are getting a mid round pick next year, could be as high as a second..

Good pickup for the Seahawks if Harvin can stay healthy. And that's a big if.

I think there are some misconceptions about Harvin's durability. Before week 9 of this year he had played in 56 of 59 games. That's pretty respectable. I think people think he is more injury plagued than he is because for two or three years he always seemed to be out of practice and a "game time decision" because of his migraine issues. Those issues have supposably been resolved though.

Larry Fitzgerald has lead the league in targets for the last two years, at least. He gets the ball thrown to him a ton; it's just that the guys delivering the ball are terrible.

There's lots of time and opportunity for this team to get better. In this draft class, there wasn't a WR available who was of the caliber of Percy Harvin, especially late in the first where Seattle was picking. Good move by them.

A very agressive move for the Seahawks, and a huge gamble. Minnesota has to love what it got for Harvin with the situation they were in. They didn't have a ton of leverage and got a good haul back for Spielman to work with.

Seattle received one of the top playmakers in the NFL for a a first rounder and two other mid to late picks. Whne you consider they would probably be using a high draft pick for a WR anyway not a bad deal. The biggest factor in this trade for me is the contract that they will sign Harvin to. I am curious to see where it is in the 10mil to 16mil range. I would guess around 12mil per year.
