This is a moment in which this team needs to make a statement to get back on track and convey to the rest of the team that recurring mental errors and taking plays off will not be tolerated.

As much as I've defended Floyd throughout his career, and he has had some nice moments, it's time to trade him.

He's getting outplayed and out hustled by Jaron Brown, who at the moment should be the team's #2 WR.

Some team with injuries or lack of depth at WR would give up a midround pick for him, but this would be more about accountability than compensation.

Did you see his body language on the 3rd Palmover? Just trotted/walked away while the play was still live.

The question is... we trade him for whom? Our D sucked, our O sucked, our Special Teams sucked, at least we have some decent cheerleaders?

That's not the answer. It's the coaching staff this team just looks completely unprepared. Offense defense and special teams.

Our offense has become very predictable we're going for the home run on every play. Why on earth are we throwing jump balls to John Brown the shortest guy on the field.

Let's face it Palmer looks done.

Our defense can't stop the run or get home on our blitz. There's a ton of things wrong right now

I agree. Is it just me and my current craptastic mood or does Floyd always seem to be moving out of bounds with the ball without knowing how close the defenders are? When was the last time we saw him fight for yards? He blocks harder than he runs. It's like Andre Ellington at receiver.

Trade him for a punter/long snapper combo. Or a body that can field a kick off without running to the 15 and playing dead.

I've never really liked Floyd, or anyone we've ever drafted from that overrated college team.

There are a number of items on this team that need attention, and actually, many of which are easily correctable. However, this is a recurring problem with Floyd. When the play isn't designed for him, he dogs routes. For four seasons, he's shown inconsistent timing with Palmer on routes, resulting in interceptions and missed opportunities. His body awareness is often questionable and doesn't have reliable hands.

Right now, a message needs to be sent to the team, and accountability is a big part of this team. Floyd, for the most part, has not been held accountable for his play and since this is a contract year for him and are likely not re-signing him, might as well trade him and get something for him while sending a message.

WR is a position of depth and we can sustain the loss of Floyd.

I have no problem with this idea.

Fine by me

Not only has he not helped our team, but hes starting to hurt us. We have a better chance of winning with him not on the field.

3/4 interceptions receivers ran the wrong routes. David Johnson is just as bad with it.

Johnson has done it 4 times already this season but he's our best offensive player so yeah I'm all for sending Floyd a message.

Floyd really stunk on ice today. It was clear his head wasn't in the game - even more so than the rest of the team, who were all sleepwalking through the "effort", but Floyd's lack of effort and focus was palpable. Multiple dropped passes, wrong routes, body language showing indifference, etc. At the very least I'd sit him in favor of Jaron Brown, who has earned the right to his spot, or I'd also be in favor of shipping him out now, if they could get some value for him. Snapper, punter, pass rusher, ST coach.. anything of value would be fine. Addition by subtraction.

Been saying this since last season... He was, is and never will be a legit NFL #1 WR. And he is barely a legit #2...

I agree. It seems like he really doesn't care. He doesn't have the passion for the game like some others do & is just there to collect a paycheck. This is one of the reasons Kiem looks for players with a love of the game.

Absolutely crap effort. Would I trade him? NO! He is one of the best blocking wide receivers in the NFL, he has the talent to step up in the playoffs and win us a Super Bowl, if he underperforms, then Steve Keim signs him to a 1 yr prove it deal, look back at our 5th or 6th round picks and tell me you would trade Floyd for them.

that said, I have a feeling that negotiations for new contract have gotten dicey and that might be affecting his play. He seems like he has a hidden Diva in him that won't come out with Fitz around.

While we're making personnel moves lets get rid of the ST coach and defensive coordinator. Arians has successfully wrapped those two weights around his neck to his detriment. Personal relationships at this high of a level when this team is on the cusp of winning a ring should be set aside, nepotism be damned.

Floyd is effectively on a 1 year "prove it" deal; it's his contract season, a year in which we've seen classic underperformers turn into stars for several months before checking out after signing a large, overpriced contract. If his effort is "crap" as you say, and he has every reason right now to be playing at an elite level, that tells you all you need to know about his future in the NFL beyond next season. Another "prove it" deal is not going to cure that.

Someone is going to offer him a multi year deal next year, hes not staying here on a prove it contract.
