Because John Gruden is an idiot!!

TJ should have never been allowed to leave this team. He was ahving a nice year in his last one here. He was awesome in Tampa last year when he played. He is so far spectacular in Chicago. I told everyone 2 months ago that he would rush for over 1300 yards and 10 Tds this year! Bank on it!

How much better would we look now if we didnt screw that up?

Guess what the Sporting News magazine football preview's "Best offseason free agent signing" was

Not Kerse by philly,

Not taylor by seattle

Thomas Jones by the Chicago Bears.

I think the only guys from the Cardinals team last year that are playing for another team in the NFL are Jeff Blake, David Barrett, Pete Kendall, Chris Dishman, Bryan Gilmore, and now Justin Lucas.

Marcus Bell is playing for the Lions, but I'm not sure to what extent.

yeah but neither of those guys were cut - they just simply ddidn't resign with us or for some reason we didn't want to resign them.

Cutting Hearst was a bad move by Buddy and Davie Mac's inability to ever get production out of TJ is gonna haunt us for years to come - he's gonna be another Hearst - but better. Good lord this offense would be better with him in there.

Couldn't agree more on Thomas Jones. One can only wonder if both he and Plummer would still be here if Green had been brought in sooner.

resign?

Two good games don't get in Canton. The Lions and Packers don't exactly have great run defenses.

Even if we make the asumption you are correct with TJ, why do you think he would have been successful here.

By all accounts he had a major attitude problem while here. He was also handed the starting job twice and lost it for dancing on the line.

Don't you think its possible that by getting cut his attitude might have improved. Its pretty common in most jobs. If you get canned by one firm, you can blame all your failures on them and start again.

It really helps in turning around a bad attitude.

He was well on his way to being successful here until he had the unfortunate High Ankle sprain in his last year here. That gave Marcell an opportunity he never gave up.

Plummer - thank God he's gone. TJ - well - maybe he had an attitude problem - but that was the last staff's blunder and point blank it's time to leave the past in the past.

Thank the Lord Plummer and F'n Jones are gone. Thomas Jones sucks ass, falls when the wind blows, has no damn heart and has injury and attitude problems. I never got this whole love fest for Thomas Jones anyway. Jones Sucks and will prove it this year or will go down with an injury. I will not even start about Plummer, he needed a change in scenery.

I never understood you misguided hate towards him. This team would be so much better off had we not gotten rid of him!

I have. I watched him have a great game and a couple good ones in his last year here.

I watched him tear it up last year in Tampa when given the ball. Now Im watching him do extremely well in Chicago!

jones didnt work out here for a combination of things. poor play by him, injury (ribs) and inept play by Oline. Him getting into fights at bars and lying about his other injury (hand) didn't help.

lets just wait until he proclaim him anything more than what he has shown so far in his career ... not much

Another reason to hate Jones is he could have been Shaun Alexander, wouldn't that have been nice.

Until this year...

If you had the chance to watch the Bears play GB, Jones was running downhill and was taking on tacklers. Maybe the Packers rush D isn't very good but when he was in AZ, Jones would falter against good and bad defenses.

Against DET, Jones was having to fight off Lion defenders 2 and 3 yards deep all game long yet still managed to get a couple TD's, one on an amazing second and third effort.

Bears have a pretty good road grading OL so Jones is getting some room cleared out for him and Terry Shea (Bears OC) wanted Jones LAST year in KC and rumors were that one of the conditions for him taking the OC job in CHI is that the Bears would actively pursue Jones in FA. Shea envisions Jones as his Holmes and is using him to the best of his ability. Forget that he is averaging over 100 yards in his first to games. He has shown the blitz pick-up ability that everyone raved about here in AZ and has shown his ability t catch the ball out of the backfield.

Two games does not a career or even a season make but the early returns are very good for Jones. I think the biggest thing was him getting separated from Boston's influence and I think he has finally realized what it is to be a football player. Simple fact is, he is the undisputed RB (he was never undisputed in AZ since it was always a competition) so he came in confident of his role with the team and is running the best of his NFL career right now.

I hate projecting stats but Let's just project his going forward and tell me what you think about these numbers:

352 rushes 1752 yards 4.98 avg 24 TDs 56 catches 360 yards

before the season, I would have said (and did) that I would be happy with 1200-1300 yards rushing and 35+ catches. If he can even come close to the projected numbers, he will have had a sick season.

I think John Tait is the reason TJ looks better.

Tait isn't hurting but I know it is very hard for you to give Jones any credit for trying hard to revive his career. The effort is there...maybe it wasn;t here but it is there now. Sometimes a person needs to almost lose something to realize how important it is to them.

Ummm...yeah, thought everyone knew it. I adopted the Cards as my hometown team when I moved down here 12 years ago. Until this year, had season tickets to the Cards since the Buddy Ryan days. But my loyalty will remain until the day I die.

Or maybe TJ struggled so much because defenses could completely key on him due to the fact that even with one on one coverage - they knew Plummer would up throwing a pick.

The kid got a new lease on life - with a better coaching staff he would have been a stud - but we didn't have a better coaching staff and so he wasn't - move on already.

Hey Cubbie - when we signed DG - I was taking a much needed hiatus from the board so I never got to see what people's reactions were and hell I might have asked this a month or two ago but don't remember your response so here's the question (if again - sorry): What is it that turns you off so much about DG and who would you have rather seen us hire?
