It's important to have some older vets around. Scola is now our oldest player, but he's only been in the league five years.

But I did not hear any mention of Redd's name associated with the Suns this summer, so I don't think the Suns are interested in bringing him back.

I think Sarver said last night Redd had increased his value by playing well last season. It might be the Suns cannot afford both Brown and Redd which I thought would be a good scenario. It is probably a money issue.

I always like LB. Wouldn't mind seeing him back, but there are a few decent option there if they can be had on the cheap.
But only if we use his one strength -- as an "instant offense" tweener Guard sporadically off the bench rather than in a repeating role in the rotation.

I say sign Brown or Redd (whichever will take a one year deal) and Donte Greene (also a one year deal) and call it an offseason. Dudley and Brown/Redd at the 2 with Beasley and Greene at the 3.

Leave as much cap space open for next year as possible.

With the signing of Brown, we now need either another 2 or add a 3 (since Dudley can play both positions). The best of the rest (and for cheap) would be Redd, Barbosa, Belinelli, Donte Green and Terrence Williams.

I'd love to get Green in here. Think he'd thrive as Beasley's back-up. Don't think he was used properly in Sactown.

I'd take a chance on Donte Greene and Terrence Williams. Plug those guys into the solar subs. Then we'll have Dragic, Brown, Beasley, Scola and Gortat starting, with a rotation of Dudley, Morris, Frye, Telfair, Marshall, Williams and Greene. Plenty of young guys who could turn out good and earn a big contract, fun to watch and still flexible for next year + they won't win much so that should net us a lotto pick :)
