After the Cards stepped up and gave him that contract? Oh well.
That was my initial thought as well. He is the highest paid UDFA in the league, so what gives?

But for all we know he could be excused because of something personal and I would have to believe that until reported otherwise. Time will tell why he left.

I hope it is not that strange "altitude" sickness, Simeon Rice had.

Sorry for the lack of info guys. It was one of those reports 20 minute update reports and that is all that was said. I can't find anything on any other site about it.

Hey... You're just the messenger and you're giving us information that is not available anywhere else, so no reason to apologize...

The outsider talked about it at the end of the day. He said that he has an injury and was a no show for camp. He said that the Cardinals will not give up his rights. I wonder the deal is.

Outsider also said that he was asked by the head coach of Michigan (or where ever he played) not to come back. Guy definetly has some issues, hopefully Denny can whip him into shape. If he can't nobody can.

According to the Republic, Shazor never showed up -- not even for minicamps.

Was a little surprised to find that out.

PRESCOTT - Last spring, the Cardinals thought they had found a treasure in rookie free agent Ernest Shazor, a strong safety from Michigan. Shazor, however, hasn't reported to camp and has been placed on the reserved/did not report list.

"We're being patient with him," coach Dennis Green said. "He has some issues he's dealing with."

Shazor thought he should have been drafted and is still dealing with that disappointment, Green said. He also has lingering problems with a hamstring injury suffered in last fall's Ohio State game.

He did not participate in Cardinals minicamps or off-season workouts.

The team isn't giving up on Shazor, Green said, but its patience is not limitless. It's possible Shazor could sit out this season. The Cardinals still control his rights, and placing him on the did-not-report list opens a roster spot.

Correction: You are misreading that. He showed up for minicamp, but was still nursing the injuried hamstring and did not participate.

Thanks for the correction. The way it reads it sounds like he wasn't there.

Anyways, it looks like Shazor never showed up for camp and is going to be placed on the "No Show" list.

What a head case. So what that the guy didn't get drafted! He has a chance to play in the NFL and there are countless players that would give up their left nut for that opportunity.

I really hope this situation doesn't end up badly, there is so much talent there.

Grif is here to train the younger guys. I don't think many people realize how good Grif is, he has lost a step but when he played in Minny he was a top 3 safety. He was also Cleveland's bst defender which had a really good secondary last year.
